XIAXIU Raptur H650 RC PLANE Mods, Crash &Radio Swap

This multi surface rc plane is loads of fun to fly but the stock radio setup is a bit jonky and limits the amount of travel of the moving saurfaces. So thisa video is about seeing if its possible to make a good plane even better with High Vis Tape, extended surfaces and even a full radio/ esc swap.

Aw, too much Toirsdie Floiyin dere Paddy! 😜😂😂 We like this crazy thing a lot Dave because it can take a real hammering! 😉 The boys on the RCGroups thread on it have some useful mods and information on it - especially on how to use the existing ESC (to get the reversing functions) with a different Multi Radio- friendly receiver and the Radiolink Byme-A multi-mode stabilizer. Also to make it a fully 4 channel machine. 😊

It rolls on ground taxi because rudder is connected to the aileron. I added a rudder servo to correct this issue. I am using a spektrum AR636 AS3X receiver flies rock solid in stabilized mode. It is a bit unstable with stability turned off

The Spektrum AR636 AS3X receiver seems to be a discontinued product and even if not, the cut down AR636B version of it looks like it sold for about AU$121 to 130+ out here in Oz (+ shipping!) And only Rate and Heading Hold modes in addition to Manual.. The Radiolink Byme-A stab costs about AU$25 delivered + about AU$20 delivered for a good Flysky iA6B receiver - and that gives you 6 different modes. Manual, Drone or Plane control Hover, Rate (AS3X), Horizon (self-levelling with no limits) and Angle (Beginner/Safe/Self-levelling with pitch/roll limits.) Why would anyone shackle themself to the Spektrum rip off?

Cool vid bud. Mine is still all stock atm they flip easy because it is so small bud. I have the hobbyking skipper and that sticks like glue ❤❤❤

@@rcpilots1291 it is a great plane bud. I smoked the og motor going 4cell so it in the hanger atm lol the dragonfly is exactly the same plane as the skipper just different stickers. Ypu can still find those in shops 👍🏼

There is something wonky in our brains that makes us push things too far putting 4s into a 3s bird 🫣. Haha I’d love the skipper or dragonfly but €200 is just too much for the wallet at the mo. 😢 Delayed gratification is a great thing 🥳

Yes it can handle a 450 mah 3 s no problem- happy flying

Interesting! So it's really limited by the gyro. Did you swap all of the electronics to use that FlySky TX/RX? Or were you able to use the stock ESC and motor?

I swapped out everything, but maybe the stock esc would have worked

I just recovered mine today from the trees, the back motor mount wing broke of a the bottom of the fuselage. However two bambo skew stick from the bottom up and the last remaining glue that came with the plan its back into position. however my servo for the two flight plains on both sides of the tail is not working. Questions 1. where do I get more glue? and 2. where do I get another servo?

Fair dues to your ingenuity 😅. Best glue I use is ‘uhu pur’ or foam tac - just do a google search for local suppliers including servos. Cheap Chinese option is the ‘Banggood’ website . Good luck

So can you roll it out of the box? Is there any modes on this plane? I got one month ago but not got chance to fly it yet, rubbish weather here in uk:/ I also put caddx vista on it and will try some fpv fun with it soon 😊

And for fpv I would love to install my 2W booster on controller. It is plug and play booster which require ufl connector, unfortunatelly stock radio has antenna solder into the board. Iwas wandering if this fly sky radio has ufl connector inside?

Ah crikey, sorry to hear that. It sounds like your flight board is installed upside down. Maybe have a look to see if things can be repositioned.

I pullout the esc and receiver and replaced with flysky radio n a spare stock esc

So with fly sky you have rudder on the throttle stick now...i also think a 3s 1000 pushed full forward using a nice 2 blade prop will get you in the 70 mph plus range...can you tell me the kv of that motor? Thax for sharing.

@@infospective Ill try my 1000mah 3s from xk x450 but Im bit afraid that bigger voltage will fry electronics in this raptor
