I can testify to the fact that you need to keep it close. Lost mine on a very windy day when I could not figure out orientation, even in Safe mode. Flew away and never found. Another pilot lost a UMX Timber same way a few minutes later.

Hiya Paul, thanks for your nice comments and ya it’s very rare to find a calm day around here lately, I live in Cork , Ireland 🇮🇪. It's an awesome beginner plane. Beginners, keep it in full safe. If you can't control yourself on the throttle, set the transmitter to only go a max of 70%, add it to a switch if you can. Beginners should also not fly on a windy day like this. That's a good tip to check CG, especially when using different size batteries. But really CG should always be checked after every battery change.

@rcpilots129115 күн бұрын
Hi Barry, thanks for taking the time to raise this very important issue. I agree that it is best to avoid flying over people. When I was training to become a qualified licensed and insured drone operator it was a topic that was discussed thoroughly during lectures. I can confirm that I was completely in compliance with aviation authority guidelines and for readers reference I’ve pasted a paragraph taken directly from easa Europe . Question-“Can I fly over people? Answer - Generally when you operate in the ‘open’ category, you are not allowed to fly over uninvolved people, unless you have a privately built drone with a weight below 250 g or a drone purchased on the market with a class identification label0 or 1 mark. In any case, try to minimise the time during which you fly over people. “ You have raised a very valid concern and I respect your comment - happy flying 👍
@Anomic_Hunter20215 күн бұрын
You're wrong. Umx planes are no different from a paper airplane. It's 100% fine to fly anywhere non-private, unless you intend to cause damage with a 210 gram foamie.
