Actually, it makes sense that she really really hates the police. This is the standard stance by the left in the US, so I presume that she would share their common platform of hating the police from a policy prespective. Even though a bit weird. Like Singapore has very little physical crime, and almost no violent crime specifically. What is there to complain about here? We are not the US

She knows nothing about anything. Making it big in media and being an 'influencer' stunted the growth someone her age experiences through normal life. Videos like this where she shares her opinions are very telling

i can only guess that the police might be incompetent, not sympathetic enough, not proactive enough, not capable enough, etc in the eyes of some people, towards certain issues (as with some civil service organisations). But then again, she shouldn't have made up a fake story to criticise an organisation, especially not in a high-stakes environment like the parliament. If anything, I have a bigger beef with MOM (which has largely been sleeping on employee rights, in my experience), as compared to the SPF.

@@bateshell2 Yea, but the police simply executes public policy. Their cause is hopeless if they are outnumbered 20-to-1 amongst the voters Like what though, specifically? There aren't that many employee rights enshrined in law to begin with, in Singapore

@John_Smith_86 One good example, pertaining to the police - Jover Chew and Sim Lime Square. Cheats have been operating openly at Sim Lim Square until Jover Chew got doxxed online. The police only started cleaning up the place after that, when so many people have already been cheated. As for MOM, I've written to them many times pertaining to certain ambiguous clauses in my contracts, and it's either no reply from them, or a half-baked reply.

some good points raised. but day to day running of estate matters should be delegated to relevant staff/contractors at the town council and should not be compromised just because the MPs have to deal with their respective legal cases. if they can't settle such estate issues and end up inconveniencing residents then yes, there is more reason to vote against them in the next election.

The logic is quite straightforward. Those of us who are successful and well off, generally benefited a lot from PAP policies. It doesn't really make sense for us to bite the hand that feeds us. The people who failed in life, are those who have little to gain from the PAP being in power. And these are the people that you would assume are less well spoken and less educated in their thoughts, their complains against PAP (This does not in any way imply that WP is wrong or that WP policies are necessarily bad. I am simply saying that the actual people, the actual human beings, who are rich, educated, and successful seems less likely to go against PAP in my personal view)

A part of me believes xia xue is a very intelligent person being able to write well and wants to respect her being thankful of what she shared. But the other part of me is so annoyed that she is just publicly calling people stupid making herself sound like one. I am a person against negative words. All singaporeans should know this famous movie 小孩不笨。They may not be as intelligent but does not mean they r stupid. Dont uds how ppl find it funny... prob the short n sweet knn statement was just for laugh. The rest im not sure. I just thought there could be many other ways to deliver it if its just for laugh. But mocking just shows disrespectful. Image someone ask you about a complex law question, when u r not a laywer or student nor having any lawyer frens n u just said idk. Does that make u stupid?
