It was an excellent lecture on lorentz force and the way you explained how a charged particle will move in a helical shape was commendable. Sir keep posting lectures it's helping loads of students.

Sir when the charge is inserted perpendicular to the magnetc field do the magnetc field by that charge due to movement also changes the direction or effect something.

very good question asked by akshay kamath . velocity filter never accelerate particle it only select which partical have desired velocity. if u set E/B greater than c , no partical will be selected.

i have a series of doubt plz make them clear:- Q1. In very starting u said Elect. Field apply force on static charge but in this lecture u were explaining the cases for force acting on a charge moving (i). parallel (ii). perpendicular. how force is applied in elect. field though the charge is moving? Q2. U gave an expression velo. v= (2qV)/m in elect. field. for a given situation charge, pot. diff. and mass are const. then there should be no gain in velo. means elect. field cant increase velo.?

sir aapne kaha tha ki magnetic field can only change the direction of the charge particle and now this formula is saying that v is directly proportional to magnetic field iam really confused sir please do help me

Sir at 41:32 u have said that if velocity increases then radius increases... But in ur 1st video u said that if the velocity of the charged particle increases (in the presence of a magnetic field) then the magnetic force on it increases and then radius decreases..

sir at 25:35 u said that magn. force do not affect velocity, while electrical force does..contradictorily at 56:58 u said just the opposite....??!!

Q3. In velo. filter u gave V=E/B as per u 500 is desired velo suppose if charges hav velo. more than 500 velo then acc to above eqn E will be more then it should move down if velo less than 500 then B is more and particle should move upward. But u explained just opposite. please explain wherever i am going wrong? Q4. r=(mv)/(qB) if v more then radius is more but in starting of this lesson u said if v more force will be more and hence radius will be less.. how this contrast? PLZZ MAKE ME CLEAR ..

sir why in expression for pitch time period is taken as time to cover that pitch(distance).time period is time taken to cover one rotation and pitch is distance between two rotation so how?

when a charged particle enters normal to an electric field it experience acceleration and takes a parabolic path .Here force is perpendicular to the velocity . In case of magnetic field force is perpendicular to the velocity but there the force can't accelerate the charge why
