Incredible Musician. Such a contemporary sound. JVR should be in the top 10 Jazz musicians right now. Only if he was born in America, the story would've been a lot different, the world would've known about him. So grateful to have found him. And we need more of JVR on KZbin.

@@MuriMorello Maybe you didn’t leave your little world at all. Can you compare JVR’s fame to Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jonathan Kreisberg, Julian Lage, Mike Morello and many other New Yorkers? Any Jazz musician playing the NY clubs becomes an instant hit. JVR is top notch but only known to the avid Jazz listeners. He’s famous in Europe but the way US promotes its art, music, politics, entertainment and culture to a global audience, Europe is relatively isolated. By the way I am from Pakistan, come visit me janu, it’s no less than the ninth planet.

@@helmet212 man, I gonna lose my time with this again. Bro, in my own little world, "at all", but at least I ain't trying to be a music critic, on youtube. I understand and agree with what you are saying, what you are not considering is, does it really matter? Is the artist in question concerned about this? I think the mindset is different! And yes, Europe, is "relatively" isolated - from time to time a new yorker joins a jam session with him and returns home dizzy. Come on, it is better we cry only for ourselves, the man is a living legend.

@@helmet212 there are a number of great jazz guitarists in Europe that have decided to stay where they are, not just Jesse, Martijn von Iterson, Gustav Lundgren and Romain Pilon to name a few. They are happy there, it's their home and they work like crazy. There are also a lot more jazz clubs in Europe and they pay a lot better than the ones in the states, so it's easier for them to stay there as opposed to having to fly to Europe from the states to go on tour,, you just hop on a train. Jesse and Martijn also have teaching positions at the jazz school in Amsterdam. I don't think they care about being well known. Not everybody wants the life of touring around the world playing 150 shows a year, it's a tough life and it doesn't make for being a very good father and husband. Jesse, Bernstein and Rosenwinkle are my favorites, they are the most musical to me and their music is swinging and passionate. All the other guys you mentioned don't play with much soul in my opinion. I saw Lage Lund with his band once, I have never been so bored in my entire life.
