Your explanation is very clear and easy understand. I just started learning FPGA and worried if I could go on. After watching your tutorial I have regained my confidence. I like to watch more tutorials from you.

Xilinx tutorials should be as clear as you've made it. For a newbie their resources are seriously lacking. Keep up the great work.

Thank you so much for this video. I couldn't locate the template file, asked the Chinese guy who sent me the dev board. Let's see if he has it. Thanks.

Thanks for your video. I am a beginner with FPGA's and some things are much better to understand now. Only one question, where can I find the .ucf file? I am using the (XILINX XC3S500E Spartan-3E FPGA Development Board + LCD1602 + LCD12864 + 12 Kits) I hope somebody can help me with an answer...

+DAJAK BRASCO There must be someone who knows where to find the .ucf file?
@RaduPopescu0008 жыл бұрын
+DAJAK BRASCO Even if you don't find the .ucf file you can generate your own based on the electrical schematic for the board. From the "ISE Project Navigator" select the top design file (in this example in the video there is only one file, the schematic, but in bigger projects you can have many more files) and then from the "Processes" window -> "User Constraints" -> "I/O Planning (PlanAhead)" (either Pre-Sythesis or Post-Sythesis depending on what stage you are at). There you map your outputs and inputs to pins. When you save you will have a .ucf file. Please keep in mind you have to be careful of which pins you assign because on an already made board the pins are already soldered to components and you might damage the board if you wire them the wrong way.
