XJ650 Build Part 14 - Seat Cowl Shaping - CINEMATIC

I have been playing with ways of finishing the seat hump shape and to get that perfect transition between the cowl and frame. I was told about epoxy expanding foam that you can shape once cured but as the video shows It didn't go to plan. I then went back to the old school method of more fibreglass and body filler. I first had to make a flat fibreglass section to sit flat against the frame then attach it to the cowl. I used hot glue to hold it in place while I added more fibreglass and resin to fill in the gap before adding the filler for the final shape.

Great work as per dude 👍 nice try with the expanding foam 😂 a tip I got from a fibreglass boat builder was to make the sheet wet with resin using a wee roller on a cardboard sheet away from the thing you are trying to mould, rather than adding the resin in situ, think I have a vid somewhere, will send you it 👍

I had that same bike bought it brand new , I put on clip on bars 4-1 pipe and rear sets , curious too see how this turns out . Great work so far 🙌
