I’m a lifelong NBA fan from Vancouver, by the time I was old enough to know what basketball was, the Grizzlies moved to Memphis. I’m a Lakers fan and the only Lakers game I’ve been able to go to was in Charlotte in February 2011, when the Lakers were the favourite to make it out of the West again, and they got blown out by the Bobcats.

Grizzlies were done so dirty by the NBA and Steve Francis. I remember there was a good video (I forget by who but if I find it ill link it) about how the grizzlies in Vancouver were given such bad luck and circumstances that they had to fold. Would have been a lot cooler as a Canadian NBA fan to have another franchise. A city with around 2 million residents (Vancouver and surrounding areas) in 2001 lost their team to a barely 1 million population Memphis. Cant help but think the Canadian market would have been profitable eventually. Especially seeing how successfull the Raptors have gotten.

I found the key with these older 2ks, even still now probably, is just to have height. I once ran a lineup in 2k11 of Blake Griffin at the 1, Dirk at the 2, I think Spencer Hawes at the 3, Andrew Bynum at the 4, and Yao Ming at the 5 and I'm pretty sure I got 82-0

The bobcats were led by the worst frontcourt in nba history with no wing defense or versatility they couldn't shoot threes plus they had rookies kemba walker and a 19 year old limited af on offense bismack biyombo trying to get run and figure stuff out without a training camp and dj augustin being the only pure pg on the team chose to jack shots up rather than playmake because he wanted to get paid and took open shots he was given instead of setting guys up to move the ball and create team chemistry or energy...plus let's be honest guys like reggie williams cory higgins dj white were all out of their league coming into this season as guys with barley any combined nba run...they had to pick up the slack for washed matt carrol edwardo najera desagna diop and unmotivated often injured tyrus thomas and checked out cancer boris diaw for half the season before a buyout and injury plagued corey maggette...poor jamario moon got pushed into this mess...shout out to gerald henderson and derrick brown...they came to play that season

Pro tip for NBA 2K12 rebuilds There are actually are two rookies in the game. This was Ricky Rubio's first year in the league after being a draft-and-stash, and since he was apart of the 2009 draft 2K had his rights to put him in the game. THe other dude is a Thunder player named Robert Vaden, who was also part of a previous draft but was a career G league player and was lobbed onto the OKC roster. Because they are the only two rookies in the game, that means they always make the All-Rookie 1st team, and you get a big bonus for training camp points if you have an All-Rookie 1st team player. Rubio has super high trade value so he's very hard to trade for unless you start with him on the TImberwolves, but Vaden is super easy to get because he was already 27 by this time in the game. If you give Vaden enough minutes then he easily gets ROTY, which is even more training camp points. Very cheesy but hey they're free development points, why wouldn't you take them

with that being said you should rebuild every team (with the wheel of course), in one season, with all teams fantasy draft, and see which team you rebuild wins the chip. you could see who all went in the first round of the fantasy draft, and each of them have to stay with their og team, for parity’s sake.

Keeping on the throwback trend. Rebuild a random team from 2k12. Carry your same roster/team into 2k13, 2k14, 2k15 and so on. Try and win as many championship as you can. Added challenges to make it harder. Cpu fantasy draft. 3 trades per 2k. Turn on injuries. Only players with 2 years or less on their contract can be traded for. If a player on your team isn't on the next 2k, sign a random on 1 year max contract. If you can think of more add them. I did this and it was a lot of fun. (I only won 4 total)
