I have the same problem with the ABS fault. Been on for years nobody can figure out what was causing it. I think you did. Great Job!

Valuable advice! It's sad Jaguar had an awesome XJ6 with the 95-97 X300, then came out with the XJ8 in 1998 with all these problems! They recovered with the 2004+ XJ8 which is a great car! Always enjoy your videos! BTW, I have a "Jesse Folder"!

Thanks for you videos… A gentleman is selling a 2003 XK8 100k miles. Very clean interior and decent exterior. he purchased a few upgrades for the car but lost interest and no longer wants to deal with it because he wants to shift his attention to another car (Mercedes). I would have to finish installing a new top. Top hydraulics need to be refilled, and also needs the catalytic converters as they were stolen. Good news is he has all these parts and are included in the price ($2,500). I am not sure if I should even bother to go look at it in person… what do you think?

What’s going on you guys… I learned a lot in this video but I have a 2004 Jaguar xj8 any advice for that car?? Also I love how u sayed the point it’s to keep them running for ever… I have had mine for 60k miles and it runs better and better everytime I work on it.. mine gives me 30mpg in the freeway

hi,i bought a xj8 98 model in L.A in 2008, 2 years later took it to Canada, then in 2014 shipped it to sweden, then a few years ago to norway,thats where im from. It had engine lamp on and off for 16 years,was driving ok,but sometimes when u do kick down,it didnt drive so well. But took it last year to Poland to get it fixed, engine is fixed, car got new paint job last week. we also fixed headliners,common problem that they get lose. I have stability fault,why is that? compressor? And where can i order cool rims from?

I have the 2008 Vanden Plas, From what I understand that this year is considered pretty reliable. Never heard of this year having problems with the timing chain tensioners

Which of these problems are persistent in the 2003 model of the xj8? I remember reading some issues being fixed on forums.

The cam chain tensioners and the vp is of revised/higher quality. But car is 20yrs and you would change vp and houses aswell as thermostat housing. There’s also a ”octopus” house under the intake manifold, that is beneficial to replace when doing the effort.

How do I know if my jag is a x308 or an x350? I have an XJ8 2004 Naturally aspirated.

X308 is the "old" body style. Essentially the '97 - 2003' but also the same body as some years before. X350 is the modernized update to that. Taller and tighter looking but still with quad headlights. It still looks like Jags everyone would recognize. This is before the "new" blocky and more generic lux executive cruiser was debuted.
