"Talking cobblers" is an art form. Something I have indulged in, especially since retirement. Incidentally, I own the 2014 model XJR1300. Very comfortable and holds the road a treat. I'm 63 yrs old and this bike will see me through to that great highway in the sky.

Extremely beautiful. I purchased a 2005 xjr1300 (blue with white stripes on the tank and tail) just over a month ago. I previously had a 2006 FZS1000, but this XJR 1300 gives me much more satisfaction, in addition to the fact that, in my opinion, aesthetically, it is one of the most beautiful motorbikes around. I noticed that yours is an injection model with a 4-into-1 exhaust. Mine has carburettors and has a 4-into-2. Greetings from ITALY ✌.( sorry my english, 😬)

Probably one of the Best XJR1300 reviews I've watched. Thanks. I've had mine for over 8 years, 27k mint condition, standard and everything you mentioned. I've got a R1250GS which I love but if I had to say goodbye to one bike it probably wouldn't be the XJR1300. That turbine whine, smoothness, low down toque and 98bhp is more than enough.

Absolutely wonderful bike I currently own ZRX1200 S which I love but the XJR is definitely a cut above the Rex dare I say the CB1300 and GSX as well. XJR1300 will be my next bike I am 37 so relatively young to own these types of bike but so much better than super sport bikes on the road they have real character

Its a beast but figured it would have more torque. Only 150 miles range would get you in trouble in remote Texas

Hi Chris....cheers....I have now added some nice enhancements since this video and will be uploading to KZbin shortly. They are a fantastic bike with a bomb proof engine. Let me know something about your bike...colour, year, mileage etc, cheers, Dave

A very nice video. Do you still own it? Will try to find one from 2008 to 2010. :)
@@thebingleywheeler I see. It had some 40.000 miles at that time probably.

Try a front sprocket with 1 extra tooth, it will bring your revs down at cruising speeds and you won’t notice any difference in acceleration, I put an 18 tooth on my 2001 SP and it went some way to compensate for the lack of 6th gear.

A recent subscriber. Enjoy your content, thank you. Ex law enforcement also, so mutual respect. Can you please advise on riding ergonomics of the XJR 1300. I am very interested in this bike. I’m in my early 50’s and 6ft and 15st. Very keen for a more relaxed, upright but powerful/torquey ride. Please advise. Cheers, Christian.

Hi Christian and thank you for subscribing. The XJR is a very powerful bike for sure and has a comfortable upright riding position just slightly canted forward (without risers). It is beautifully styled and looks the best in black to my mind. It seems to me more reasonably priced than its immediate competitors (Suzuki GSX1400, Honda CB1300 etc). I would observe that it has old school handling characteristics so don’t get caught out in the bends 😊👍🏻

Hi, great video. What year is this model and have you ever had any weird, strong vibrations around 60mph?
@thebingleywheeler3 жыл бұрын
Hi..... 2008.....and no vibration issues at any speed.... Creamy smooth

The slight "weave" you experience is not something that I get on my XJR. Even in corners with undulations the bike stays stable and steerable. The weave is most likely due to an incorrect damping set up. If the rear end is pogoing due to lack of rebound damping, then this will upset the steering making the handlebars rock left to right. At the other end of the bike, if the front is too soft, it can make the front end dig in if it hits an undulation in a corner, which then leads to the bike wanting to stand up momentarily and then lean again. You have got fully adjustable Ohlins on the rear which, in theory, means the rear end has superior suspension than the front. I am lucky enough to have a friend who is an Ohlins expert who helped me set my bike up. They do have specific charts for damping set up. PS. You do have a very tidy bike.

Love seeing bikes in this condition. Lovely condition it wont get over 150mph though and would be lucky to hit that if ever sadly. To heavy and not enough power.
