It even SOUNDS like a CP heli. Crazy tiny. I used to rock a Rex600 but it scared the living heck out of me every time it was in the sky as it was worth more than my car :) Sold it before it turned in to a Rex shaped debris field... This looks fun. Great overview Bud

Very useful video. I had a Nano CPS years ago and now I’m looking at a new helicopter. They seem similar only this one has a nicer radio and brushless motor as I understand. I was able to do a few loops but I always struggled with orientation. These are pretty light helicopters so if you keep it high and over grass, you can pretty well cut the power and the grass will soften the fall. This looks like my next helicopter.

we all learn a lot when learning and thumbling through it and reach out for help be it internet/forums or friends, "i mean that in a good way" polished over edited are useless for learning so thank's for keeping it REAL.. these k110s are great to learn on as it is a full on cyclic pitch and i crash mine and repair constantly not because the K110s is no good "it's great for price" and lot of fun, just My skills as heli learner LOL..parts to have on hand..many boom sticks, blades,props and main gears "black wheel with cogs"..brilliant tip from forum was to repair split boom with dental floss and superglue..saved me from weeks of waiting..X6 is decent once one gets used to it "adapt" and i'm a beginner also btw.. gotta change D/R..pitch and throttle settings in x6 to dumb it down to learn basic flight is coming from EG k127,E129. lets be honest we should not fly inside but lots do, so need to change settings as default in my opinion is too aggressive and jerky.. swashplate gets noisy after a while "bearing"..lipo 1s wise i have 450mah,500mah,520mah and HV 550mah,hv needs different charger to stock ones but gives bit of extra getup and go power.. It's all trial and errors with these things,they all seem to fly different out of box and need fine tune eg trim via switches on remote or subtrim which on x6 you enter via "press mode and back" button together for few seconds. Eventually it's cheaper to buy a BNF one as backup of course depends on how many smashes you have learning, which should be 50-60 AU cheaper than initial purchase price. throttle cut has save my helicopter many times. "i know some pros advise not to use them too much as bad habit when panic mode" but has saved me from many new parts required..just learn to do at last moment of impact or into fence/gate/doors curtains chairs etc..

Great overview. I ordered one, received it but I gave it to a friend for his birthday who’s copter crazy and cash poor. He’s flown it at least 100 times and has graduated to acro. I’ve flown it twice and it was certainly like the real thing in many aspects. I’ll save up and buy another one.

Having flown the real thing - did you find a model heli easier/harder than a quad?
@ReggieRailSystems2 жыл бұрын
@@CurryKitten it’s a bit different than a quad to me not as easy after the learn curve was established. Obviously I don’t have a Tactile feel on the RC Heli over the real one but the similarities of what to expect is spot on for me. I still would to have full quality FPV on a 400 size copter. I think it would be easy for me. Would love to see one produced.

Best bang for the dollar. The controller is actually pretty good. The Helicopter is great for the price. I have 21 different Helicopters. Mechanical setup is vital on each and every one. Then comes gyro calibration. Many people upgrade with an aluminum swashplate, but the the plastic stock parts keep the cost down....and act as a mechanical fuse.

I found it hilarious that the word "terrifying" was said at least a half dozen times 🤣.... and I totally know what you mean. I was able to rig my Blade MSRX with a runcam nano3 and a eachine vtx03 and fly it fpv and was actually able to fly it with confidence. Flying LOS breaks my brain but flying FPV is quite natural for me. Perhaps once you get the hang of this Lil bird, you can try it fpv. I must say, you are way better at LOS than I was and that's probably due to your fixed wing experience. Keep at it and I'll be looking forward to seeing your progress.
@CurryKitten2 жыл бұрын
It was really scary - not so much in the "it's going to kill me sense" but it felt like it would explode in a crash. I'd have been a lot happier flying FPV, that feels very natural to me as well, but it was interesting to step outside my comfort zone for a while and try LOS. I don't think I've had to concentrate that hard on a model in a long time :)

I started with an HK450. Cheap HK wood prop came unglued from the central rod as I was taking off. The heli grenaded 6" off the ground 25ft in front of me. That prop torpedo'd right between my shins. I went back to fixed wing for years. Now picking up quads, maybe I'll come back n get a 250 or something.

well done matey! Yes, im afraid the orientation problems get worse as you go inverted. Nose-in upside down for instance: Pitch Normal, Ailerons Reversed, Pitch Reversed, Rudder revered. But upside down tail in: Pitch Reversed, Ailerons Normal, Rudder reversed, Pitch reversed.. so yea, there is a lot to eventaully commit to muscle memory! Though these days many good helis have a self righting bail out switch when your brain fails.
@CurryKitten2 жыл бұрын
It's very weird - but until I can stop myself dropping throttle in the sim at the first sign of trouble, they'll be no inverted hovering for me! I feel I could get away with a loop now, but slowly slowly - I'm too scared to flick that idle up switch for now :D
@NJ-Tech2 жыл бұрын
@@CurryKitten throttle cut is your friend when trying new things. Its so light it will just bounce on the floor with the rotors stopping in the air. Just remember on your first loop use a just a little negative when in the inverted part, not a lot or youll shoot up inverted :) Look forward to the test!

I fly mine via OpenTX using a multi-protocol module. It is well worth the considerable effort to set up for when you go to 3D mode. You can then have multiple pitch curves, rpm curves, expo on servo's, audible timers, and slowly work your way from light to serious acro . See John Salt.
@CurryKitten2 жыл бұрын
My Jumper radio with it's inbuilt multiprotocol module recently seems to have given up the ghost, and my other multiprotocol module is one of the ones with not enough flash ram on board to deal with the new updates correctly or I might have done that. But that radios not actually bad for what it does - it would be easy to set up different models with different pitch/rpm curves and it does have expo. The timer would be really useful though

always found the quality of XK products to be good for toy/hobby grade stuff. had a xk110 and xk120 stock up on the main gears :) you can also set it up to fly like a drone non 3d so using the motor speed instead of collective pitch or both to fine tune gives you much more resolution from the throttle stick instead of 50 -100 % you got 0 - 100 % if that makes sense there fun to fiddle with. wish i still had mine would be tempted to put a small fpv camera and transmiter on it and fly fpv :)
@CurryKitten2 жыл бұрын
Yeah - I'm not expert on Helis, but this seems to sit happily in the hobby side of things. It's a pretty decent radio for a package, and pretty neat build. Yeah - I get what you mean, by setting the pitch and throttle curve differently I could have it act much more like a 0-100% throttle. I've resisted doing so, just because I'm trying to get used to flying it as it is - so when I go idle up and try some crazy things my muscle memory will work for helis and not quads.... hopefully :)
