Hawaii boy here, never been to Australia. Quite awhile ago I saw some water footage of Kirra and was blown how square and dredging that barrel really is. From the beach video never does it justice, maybe the locals don't like cameras in their face but man I'd love to see more of that.

I love that it all looks like paddle in, so skilful to put yourself in position to get one of those gems plus compete with everyone else's hunger for the prize.People remember days like this for the rest of their lives, they play the replay of their memories over and over and never get tired of it, like all great warriors. Kudos to you guys for such a pure piece of surfing footage with the best soundtrack.

No way, I am a small wave surfer, I dont even think i have a board big enough to surf anything over 4ft. If there were only a handful of guys out then I'd efinitely have a go at that size but with so many surfers out and some that really shouldnt be out there at all, I am amazed no one got seriously injuired.

@@rawsurfing I was amazed at the mob. And I learned to surf at Malibu in the 1960's. There was some close calls in your video all right. I'm an old man now living in Taranaki, New Zealand. We saw none of the Cyclone Seth swell here. It looked like the storm was very close to the coast.

Its crazy as its such a dangerous wave to just have that many drop ins. I will only surf Kirra at day break (and much smaller) as the droppings are insane once the line up fills up.
