That was a smart move to take the JS screws of the engine covers out while the engine was in the frame. It can be really fiddly once it is out and on the workbench. The oil filter did its job - quite impressive in such a simple design. All the effort you take on getting the gasket mating surfaces clean will really pay off in the long run. It is so nice to see this sort of video rather than the majority of "will it run" ones that appear on KZbin. Please keep these coming.

For new remade top-end kits for XL TL TLR try A V Taylors of Hexham Northumberland England. they ship worldwide and their barrels, heads, and pistons, carbs, are better than Honda NOS, they are a car parts firm but also specialises in small CC Honda 4T engines of the 1980s

That’s some great info, thank you for sharing! Great to know especially with how the oiling in these older XLs are prone to clog and wipe out a top end.
