6 months later i finally chipped a few teeth on the smaller spur gear... was plastic. And now the composite replacement im putting in feels super duper durable. Im swapping in a 5900kv 120amp rn so ill show mine doing good as well

I picked up one of these the other day and tore it down before running. I believe they have done something about the dry gears and diffs as mine came with grease in them although not a lot. A dab of grease in those shocks is a must do to cut that silly pogo-stick bounciness.

nice work on tearing yours down. Yeah seems they have done greasing to address issues. I should grease my diffs asap. thanks alot for the info! yeah pogo bounce isn't good 😁

@@MickoRC yes fill the diffs with high temp pressure for better limited slip and full the gear case up with a mix of 80% high temp grease and 80w rear end gear oil. I put 80w in the shocks as told to but it leaked out made a huge mess. Does the grease come out of the shocks?

And wd40 dry lube on all external moving contact points. Filling it full of grease made it so quiet smooth and faster. Just winds out a bit more. Everything stays cooler its a must on these

Grease in the old friction shocks works a treat hey Michael? I've done that a few times on some of my brushed trucks when I don't have spare oil shocks laying around or CBF waiting a month for some to arrive from overseas. Bit surprised it didn't go that fast on 3s, when I transplanted the ESC and motor out of my pos X03 into my MZ 1004 buggy it got 60kph on 3s and had much smaller wheels. Thumbs up bud! 👍

Yeah Dave the grease trick works pretty well. I was surprised. Yep pretty disappointing 40km/h. I wonder if its because the gearing is pretty low. I'm guessing you're using a bigger pinion in your 1004, no? Thanks for watching bro. Have a great weekend ! 🍻

Mine took a 1300mah 75c 3s just fine for months, then a 1500mah 100c 3s fried it after it moved 3 feet
