There is also an inline XLR phantom power device (Xvive P1) for around 50 bucks, 40 hour run time, usb c rechargeable, can be a great budget option if you don't have a field recorder.

Thank you for sharing this really neat device. Adds phantom power and has TRS output camera mic out. This Xvive P1 would allow me to use the Rode Go II and the Holland Lark Max I show to use a phantom power mic wirelessly to the camera and of course "internal recording". Otherwise simply do XLR wired to the camera. Basically allows the ability to skip the audio interface. The Zoom F3 field recorder is bound to give a bit better sound and prevents audio clipping. This however is a MUCH cheaper option that can save you money 👍. I use NPF battery banks with an adapter plate to power ALL my equipment from one battery. I'll save that for another future hot tips video ;)

@@sparkestudio it’s XLR only, you would still need the XLR to TRS cable. I have a zoom F2 and it’s a great match for it. I use a cheap transmitter I had laying around to make it “wireless” plugged into the headphones plug of the F2. If I have any interference issues or didn’t set my levels properly the internal 32 bit recording of the f2 comes in clutch. This way is easier to sync too since the wave form would match perfectly

@@PopoRamos yes I see that, the included information video made it look like it had an XLR to TRS cable like I have. Nice idea with the F2. If you watched my Zoom F3 1 to 3 videos... Maybe you have seen them all. The F3 is insanely good. My phone becomes an interface and can be powered by so many methods. This Xvive is interesting enough that I should make a review of it. A very neat on the go device.

@@sparkestudio yes, the F3 route is definitely the way to go if you can afford it and use it enough to justify it. I’m currently saving up for it too. Just have so many things I want to get 😂

@@PopoRamos If you find yourself wondering what to get I'll do my best to help. If you ask something try to let me know use case. For instance the Maono PD200X has louder and better sound USB than the Fifine AM8T BUT when using XLR only the AM8T might be a tad better if not using USB.

Hi. I want to connect a Audio-Technica AT831b (Cardioid Condenser Lavalier Microphone with battery pack, XLR out) to a Rode Wireless Pro transmitter (3.5mm TRS Input). There are two XLR to 3.5 cables I found, one is cheaper basic cable that is just XLR to 3.5; the other is the same but with "Low to High Impedance Matching Transformer". Do you know if the basic cable should work, or will I need the impedance matching? Thanks for any help!

I cable I placed in my description of my video should work fine I'd think. Could always get the matching impedance but honestly I lack experience with self powered lavalier mics, especially that one to know for certain. The one in my comments is the same type I use for all my testing including it works with my Sennheiser MKE 600 with batteries inserted. Should work the same with that wired lavalier

@@sparkestudio Thanks! BH Photo told me I need the more expensive cable, but I've seen several reviews and videos like yours that suggest I might not. I'll try the cheaper cable first.
