This is one of the most frustrating things about the focusrite 2i2 4th gen, I am tempted to just return it. All I am trying to do is have my mic and guitar come out NOT mono into the Iphone15 and somehow that’s impossible. I’ve legit tried everything online and can’t find a solution. Is there ANY audio interface that can take 2 inputs and record them on the iphone video and playback is stereo? Please someone answer lol
@sparkestudio
@sparkestudio 19 сағат бұрын
do you mean it's playing through one speaker only or are both audio sources blending together and you want one on left and one on right speaker? Keep in mind Davinci Resolve editor acts differently than regular PC / Mac audio playback. I don't own an iPhone but I've found it to be a royal pain with several devices requiring adapters just to work properly especially if your phone is "Lightning" adapter which than requires a lighting an OTG adapter just to work correctly just like the DJI Mic 1 with iPhone adapter requires and OTG adapter from USB to iPhone Lightning just to get both left and right working.

@@sparkestudiowhen i finish the recording, the video plays vocals on left speaker (input1) and guitar purely out of the right speaker (input2), no matter what i do or try, that is always the result, if i do the splitter thing you’re doing, there is the obv massive loss in quality but it’s still a bandaid that doesn’t work as the output is STILL through left speaker
@sparkestudio
@sparkestudio 18 сағат бұрын
@@TWO_EZ There should not be a loss in quality with the hardware method unless your cables aren't of quality or your volume is too loud and causing the audio to clip. You'd have to do the OTG adapter thing I guess. Welcome to iPhone, sorry I hate purposeful imposed limitations that Apple does. Have you tried the "Open Camera" APP which I recommend in all my videos for Android phone users.

@@sparkestudiothanks for the responses! Yes i know the quality isn’t diminished by that much unless i’m loading a track via 1/8 into 1/4 going into the splitter The big issue is no matter what i’m recording, the very first input or second input is always registering as a left or right input into whatever device, so even with the splitter, sure a track or guitar/instrument with a mic going into the input1 or input2 it’s still going to not come out in stereo, certainly not on the iphone

Thank you for the great tip and I wonder if I can ask for a quick advice. Taping a singer strumming on non amplified acoustic guitar. F3 and two 48v xlr mics. @@bigdspeedshop the most pro way to record is to record one thing voice or guitar and then wear headphones to do the other part to record it clean. @@Brandonarchambault you would have to set the camera manually to get proper lighting. Apature to control the depth of field, faster shutter speed should provide a sharper image. software wise windows no longer has the option to change but OBS has a mono setting to make both speakers play through, almost all programs have the option to select left or right speaker audio

@@razindrz3916 i take it you mean recording to your mobile phone? You can either use the hardware hack or open camera and set the software to stereo or mono. Also Davinci Resolve is stupid. You may find that you play back your audio on the computer and both speakers work but not Davinci Resolve editor until you change a setting in the program.

Thanks for the comparison. My main singing mic has been the AT4040 for the last 10 years. This video made me feel like I made the right choice.

The Presonus Quantum ES2 is personally my favorite interface with nice warm tone. I do not need mute or compressor doing reviews on camera. In this video when this interface is powered I am almost always using monitor out to my camera, the Mains monitor output is just that good.

Many USB type C to C cables works correctly. Hopefully Presonus make this more compatible with USB A cables with firmware.

I’m trying to record into my iPhone, just a regular iphone video with the focus solo. I’m getting mono sound on playback, so should I get a splitter and then a XLR to Jack adapter for the Jack input?

@@MissJnet if you can figure out which Y splitter works with your mic it should work. In my video description I should have links to purchase cable Y splitters.

Fifine AM8 or even the Maono PD400X or the PD200X with USB to make the sound the way you want it. Depends on what you are doing and use case because without you telling me how would I know if a dynamic microphone is the one for you to use. For a mic that picks up everything and is good for voice acting I would totally Presonus PX1 if gaming streaming or pod casting I'd stick to dynamic mics.

You can change your software to 1 channel left or right audio or you can use the hardware method and it's always one instrument to both speakers. With a guitar get a female 1/4" to dual male 1/4" and done.

Thanks for the nice review. The outdoor sequence at the end of the vid has quite horrible color. Your skin looks yellow/corpse-like and the whole scene looks unnatural, a bit like the first Black Sabbath album cover with very selective over-saturation. Is that a settings problem or is it like that in default, out of the box? Thanks again.
@sparkestudio
@sparkestudio Ай бұрын
@@forename_surname it was from messing around trying to get manual colors set. Outside and even with auto in very bright conditions in sunlight this struggles. Record in shaded conditions... I have to check if there is new firmware / to fix the issues I had experienced. I had a better experience with their S800 webcam I reviewed on my tech channel. It was good enough to record my review of the S800 secretly having purchased a second camera when Emeet set only 1. The most impressive gear I have tried is their high end Bluetooth headphones again reviewed on my tech channel... It kind of sucked without the updated firmware but installing the mobile phone software instantly recommended the update. Really loud with great reception distance and noise cancellation. I recorded both the speaker and the built in mic and the boom arm mic audio.
