Gambit is omega level but he had mister sinister lobotomize him so that his power wouldn't spin out of control..in an alternate universe he's one of the more powerful entities in existence

This is true. I was hoping DP3 would introduce the MCU to our Henry Cavill as Mr. Sinister moving forward and being from the 1800s maybe saying he collected the genes of Xavier's twin from the drains and wirk him into the film as a secret villain in the Cassandra Nova story to payoff, Origins, Apocalypse, DP 1&2, Logan & X2. Technically, he is the only villain we need for the Mutant Saga to begin with for the next 10 year run.

It broke my heart since the beginning, but the worse with cable saying "I'm so sorry mom", gambit saying that they are "friends" and then when rogue finally makes up her mind gambit dies!!! I think the idea of Genosha itself is something which could be explored in depth and might be used for future conflicts. Coz this is a nation, made only for mutants. This is the edge that makes '97 so good. It's not actually geared towards children _and_ it's on a major streaming network - even if it is Disney. The thing missing from '92 was stakes. This time, death is on the table (even if impermanent). In rewatching, that's the thing that was missing from the old cartoon. Death was a no-no; the closest we got was Jean in Dark Phoenix Part 2, and even that was referred to as "her spark is gone," and was fixed in a few seconds. You _knew_ no one would ever die, no matter how tense the situation got. Knowing that this episode will probably get retconned with time travel doesn't alleviate the gut-wrenching emotional blow. For as awesome as the old series was, this is what was missing. Granted, it was a 100% children's cartoon, so it makes sense, but it made the tension hollow, because you knew nobody was truly at risk.

Man! I just watched this and omg. I was left with my mouth open and tears in my eyes at the end. So far I’m loving the reboot. Storm and Cyclops are the badasses they really are. Loved Storm’s omega level attack on the sentinels. It was awesome.

Great episode! Thanks for the breakdown. Question for you. If Rogue can touch Magneto and absorb his memories why not his magnetism powers? You would think that with all the touching she could use the magnetism to touch anyone without hurting them. Love the content my dude. Thanks again.

I’m glad U brought Ep 5 of X-Men I’ve never been so glued to a animated TV show before & left speechless at the same time, & idc what ppl think about this but I shed a tear, which I’ve also never done off of an animated TV series before lol but it was that impactful & ground breaking ‼️ impeccable writing‼️ Great job Marvel ‼️ Btw if anyone watched the original before X-men 97 “remember” it was Gambit catchphrase like his others like “Mona-me” or “shell” just wanted to point that out .

You literally can NOT just skip the part where Magneto whips the sentinel with the train just right after seeing flash backs of the internment camp, the symbolism of a jewish origin character using a train (the main transport to camps) to whip a monster committing genocide of his people.

At the beginning I thought this was going to be a filler episode but once Jean and Madelyn got the nose bleeds I figured there was more. Once seeing Cable come in that just blew it open that something big was going to happen. Loved it
