Do you realize that most zoos save animals that were in captivity? Like these animals cant return to the wild they would die. Its the best option to replicate their habitat like that, it sucks I hate looking at them locked up but with most of them its the only option
@teamspeak9374
@teamspeak9374 3 жыл бұрын
well then you are a dumbass now that you have grown-up because most zoos provide a net positive to the world. They take care of animals that can't survive in the wild and educate people on the natural world and hopefully makes them more aware that we shouldn't destroy the planet. If zoos were banned most of the animals there would have to be put down because they can't be reinserted in nature. What actually sucks and should be banned is those aqua shows where they train inteligent animals like dolphins to do tricks and purposefully take animals out of nature to train them and sell tickets. But there's a huge difference between a wildlife zoo and that.

@@massivelegend3339 straight bullshit bro, but if you want to belive that bullshit, live on with your bullshit :D but its straight bullshit. Zoos are commercial and they want to make profit so fatass us-americans can lick their ice creams and watch them rot behind some glass. And when some kid climbs in the gorilla terretory they'll shoot the gorilla. Zoos should be forbidden. There is places where they really save animals and release them or keep them. But they are nothing like zoos and depend on donations.
@Zepellin

@@windows95_de man you know nothing about zoos as your probably someone who looked at a ape and forgot how they’re not human and can’t show a good expression through face and many zoos release animals. And harambae could of killed the child also why only mention Americans when zoos are worldwide.
@windows95_de
@windows95_de 3 жыл бұрын
@@Zepellin You dont see the fact that if there was no zoo, the kid and the gorillla would never be in that situation? I mention americans, because they're one of the best example how turbo capitalism destroys our world and the animals who live in it. Research animal sanctuaries. If you truly belive that the zoos worldwide are there to save animals, then you should do some research and watch the animal behaviours inside those zoos. ESPECIALLY on apes you can see how depressed they are living in captivity. But you also see it with elephants, bears, all type of animals. They are in a prison and get stared at by humans. If you love animals, you should pay better attention to that.

I dunno, I've always felt kinda bad seeing certain animals at the zoo. I mean, if it's something like a reptile or whatever, they pretty much just spend their time eating or lying around anyway and they don't really seem to give a fuck as long as they're fed. But with animals like apes or big cats, for example, I get the impression that captivity bothers them. They never seem happy or content, just depressed or agitated. I remember seeing a tiger at the zoo and it just seemed like a shame. A majestic, powerful apex predator, a natural killer, reduced to eating ground beef and getting gawked at by tourists. It just felt... wrong... to me. Mind you, I'm not some hippy or animal rights extremist. I'm just saying, with some of those animals, I find it depressing to see them like that.

There will a come a day soon when the majority of rare animals will be in Zoos, because people that live in the 3rd world countries they call home are uneducated idiots that don't understand (or care about) the word "extinct". What's sad is the part where these animals are poached daily, but people in 1st world countries are worried about their "feeling" because they see an animal like this at a zoo. "Out of sight, out of mind." Very 1st world of you. No, if you WERE a hippy or animal rights extremist, you'd understand why those gorillaz were caged and would care why. But, like most 1st worlders, you're only concerned about what immediately affects you and your "senses", what you see and hear and how it makes YOU feel. "I dunno" is exactly right. Ignorance in this area is astounding.

Mikesaniceguy who do you think buys the products resulting from animal poaching? The poachers friends and family? And when orang-utans lose their habitat because their homes are torn down to be used as construction materials, who do you think buys those materials? And who do you think buy all the industrial products that are causing mass pollution in places like China and India? There may come a time when the majority of rare animals will be in Zoos. But it will not be due to the desperation of poverty-stricken people in the third world. It will be due to the immense stupidity of people in the first world, completely unaware of the true cost of their cheap construction materials and badger fur shaving brush. Oblivious to the fact that cheap products in the first world mean low wages in the third. The comfort with which we live is the reason others cannot afford an education. Like you said, ignorance in this area is astounding.

On one hand, I agree with the sentiment that such intellegent creatures don't belong in cages, but on the other hand, I'm glad that gorillas (and other forms of wildlife) are safe from poachers, disease, and natural predators as long as they're in zoos. I still think there's a long way to go in terms of making sure that animals are treated humanely by humans, but so far, we're on the right track.

What most of you are missing is that, he's only interested in the kid. The first knock was for the kid. He's clearly done with grown humans as he deals with them all the time. He has a soft spot for kids and can probably tell the kid belongs to them. Notice when the kid knocks the 2nd time, He checks... Sees the kid, looks up at the adults as if he's figured it out. Returns the knock. When the adult does it he's like ugh... fine I'll return it. Also explains why he looks for the kid when he leaves and goes on staring into his cage. Passive aggressively ignores the adults.

They’re also stuck in small cages. I saw a hyena in a small enclosure, and it was just a walking back and forth, back and forth, wanna know why? Because it was depressed and couldn’t take it mentally any more. A few years later I saw the hyena doing the exact same thing. Enclosures are nothing compared to freedom. It’s just not the same, trust me I know what I’m talking about.
