Cool, and you can easily get all of the materials needed in about an hour or so, by letting a beaver wander around to collect thatch and wood, and use a doed to get the stone.

This boat was the one that became the standard boat I always build in both Pvp/Pve servers, with slight modifications on Pve with less weaponry. Amazing boat, cheap to make with room for improvements, saved my life multiple times, very thankful.

Hello xONEWINGx, I am new to ARK and replicated this boat after excitement from your first raft build video. The one difference I find as a new player is the use of transporting a Ptera for flying to get metal. The exception I took to this boat build is I built 2 foundations back instead of 2 ramps/doors (I have 1 ramp/door). I then built this bird parking area as a 2 x 2 x 2 so I can transport birds without them getting shot and the ceililng is open with a doorframe and door to access the raft rutter, the 2 foundations back allows the rutter to still be maintained inside the raft. I am not advanced enough yet to get a generator/fabricator on my boat, but for a starter I have 4 boxes, bed, mortar, smithy, campfire, and 2 forges and lots of inside space for dodo's/dilo's. If a friend logs in we are able to store 2 Ptera's comfortably or perhaps an Argent as well. Just an idea if you want this boat but be to be able to carry 2 birds. Would you like a screenshot?

Yes that sounds good, I have extended it back one square before enough to fit a trike on (or ptera I guess) and also as a shooting platform when luring alphas out into the water shooting into them as you edge out of their range). The only problem is if you meet another boat with plants on it as there is little you can do, birds you can fly away but the trike was in a world of hurt. I'll do a tutorial on the carrier next which keeps everything safe, I think you'll like.

Here is one Question though: How do you get water for the Crop Plots? - The plants need to be watered to grow and shoot.

Omegatcu No they don't, the rain provides enough water for plant x, just keep fertilised and you are fine.

As some suggestion: if you need storage space you can built another smithy. it has no pin-code but 75 instead of 15+15 item Slots. You can place it where you place two boxes in the front and you save additional "budget" for additions.

In the beginning use thatch for the lowering and when you get to the right layer replace with stone. It gets the same results with fewer materials

Thanks for the Videos! 3 of us playing PvE. we are using a longer turretless expedition made of stone foundation and wood walls for now! Was still able to fit bed, forge, smithy, grinding bowl, fridge, 2 large storage, and camp fire. Boat helps a lot! Thanks for the help

i just started on xbox primitive server 600 and my trie was raided everynight before we can build up so i just built this expedition boat now were actually able to go around the map freely gathering resources and building a base :)

I just recently designed a modified version of this boat for the specific intention of bringing a couple of Dino's along, specifically one of my Para's as I really appreciate their combination of carry weight, health and moderate speed. Can also bring a few shorter guys for muscle/utility as well as they'll fit in along side the parasaur (Though my Dimo hit squad usually performs that roll for me). As I only play with 1-2 friends on my private, theres no worry about attacking tribes so I subbed the plants/wings for a taller roof to let the parasaur rider hop off. It also makes an excellent Megalodon hunter. Just bring a few Dodo's with all their points in HP, throw two or three out the dino gate and just wait for one to show up, which it usually will, then hop up to the ballista turret and start pelting it. Only takes 3-6 hits to take most down I find. Also excellent for taking out larger dino's that are on shore. Inside it has plenty of storage, feeding trough, all the crafting stations for a lvl 30, a bed and a fire place+camp fire for when it's time to go up north to go penguin clubbing! Overall, really great boat for getting to different area's with out going through the risk of traveling through the mainland, and especially for transporting valuable resources back with out risking loss.

Awsome raft! Heads up for xbox one players: On pvp other people can glitch right into your raft, through the sloped roofs, if you're moving. They can easily climb up onto your raft, using the sloped roofs as well. Also, dont expect sinking the foundations to be as easy as it was back when this video was posted.

Drove iT arround.. just saw square boxes... took me directly to Some caves etc.. so great advantage this boat.. also going to make carrier, and that boat with side traps for taming.!! I just made my first good raft using this raft as a base design but with some modifications. One of which being that I placed a pair of large storage boxes at the back of the raft and the smithy in front of them. It allows for all the storage I need and opens up a few more pieces as opposed to having 6 small boxes.

Your Builds are Amazing Brother. I can tell you that I have made 2 expedition boats based off of your first boat video. The only change was ramps in the back to allow smaller mounts to ride on either side and load from front or back. I use wolves.

So far, I'm really liking the stairs structure on PS4, because you can toggle it from being stairs to being a ramp, but idk if that's the case on other platforms, makes it nice to use them like a form of sloped blind shutters which can be altered even on a server, so it's quite nice.

I have some great memories of exploring the Island map with an expedition boat, back when I first got Ark. Long before the stupid Leedsichthys ruined casual boating. The build isn't strictly necessary anymore with updates, but it remains an efficient, charming little design, and I just love it to bits.

I love this boat. I do a variation of this on my builds. I sail solo 98% of the time so I ditch the second ramp and door, lose the windows, and the side wings. that gives me 12 more spots. Then I mount 4-6 extra plants or guns. I use the smithy and fab as my storage. Instead of 4 storage boxes I get 2 forges and to mortars.

I've had the raft attacked with rockets and quetzals with great results. It was stone but had auto turrets up. TIPS Always have one forward turret and one rear turret set to players only. Mini gun or rocket turret or chain bola is KEY switch in and out of "k" mode to see your attackers clearly and juke rockets. keep them from getting point blank. you could be glitches and stuck or your genny killed by quetzals. (hence mounted gun) I'd love to show mine off. you'd love it.

Amazing job! Congratulations, I reversed engineered the boats from your first video and made some custom tweaks to my style, and now my Tribe basically owns the sea and rivers even if there is an aggressive Alpha clan on the server. Breach boat is insanely, ridiculously, overwhelmingly powerful with 25+C4 on the sacrificial end. May i suggest on your ''8th game expedition borat'' to cover the top of the generator that protrudes over the ceiling, as it takes damage from the outside and can be easily taken out from the outside. Maybe you could move it to the back and leave the industrial grill on the front. On another thought, you might like to build a "vault ship", is just a 2 story high metal box, with a turret underneath and on the ceiling turrets and plants mixed on "attack player" and ''Attack Tamed Animals and Players" , so you can leave 2 or 3 in the edges of the map as mobile high value storage facilities. Maybe even accompanied with some dummy ones. with hot defences. Looking forward for you to build a "Destroyer" with cannons, and see if we get similar designs :)

Side note. when u switch to metal there is one change to be made. On the metal version of wall with window frame, it extends passed the roof of first floor and you can't pass unless you duck. Anyone building with metal needs to put plain walls on second story and no windows.

I have a few suggestions with this build. One. With the wings sticking out the side with the plant species X, get rid of them because in pvp combat players can just hide under the platforms. So much more effective putting the plant species X on the roof. Another would be getting rid of the ballista turret because really it's a waste of recourses if in solo combat, plant X will be more effective. And take the railing off because it's unnecessary and a waste of good building placement

I also figured out if you don't put a stone foundation underneath the rudder you're able to swim underneath your boat and get in without using the doors. Which is pretty useful if you're getting chased by something

we built so many of ur expedition boats after i found ur first video before 2 months, since then i shared ur design and fowarded countless of people to check ur video here. we r very mobile tribe, and i personaly spent days building many of ur carrier boats, with some modifications, as i was trying to find best optimal solution, paying attention to slighest posible detal. u can say that half of my time in game iv spent on boats planing. i would post picture of my last carrier, but sadly it was destroyed by some of alpha tribes. we r playing on official test server, our base was in and in front of cave on carno island, but stoped playing recently becouse of constant harrasment by alpha tribes, every 2 or 3 days they r coming back, without any reason. if i ever build carrier again ill send screenshot with explanation whats modified and purpose of each change for what is for. keep building those, ur videos about rafts r best here on yt, and trust me, iv seen a lot other videos about this topic ☺

Onewing, could you explain how to add the underwater compartment or do a short video on it? I've tried it using the method you show in your hidden raft storage but I just can't seem to get it right, it's either to high and I can't get the walls on or too low and there is a gap between it and the boat.
