Appreciate your review and insight on this. I'm borrowing a Summit Viper from a buddy. I like it, but it's heavy and doesn't pack up very small. Takes up a ton of space in my vehicle. Looking at these as they are a bit lighter and pack up a LOT more compact! My dad got me into hunting when I was old enough to do so. We started on Minnesota Grouse and went from there. Now I'm in Florida 35 years later and obsessed with hunting hogs!

Thank you ! Yes that is one of the great things about this climber is the packing ability. Awesome to hear the dads getting their kids into hunting and involved in the outdoors.

The sit bar... I also put longer bolts in where it meets the frame. So it's not so loose. Now, if you it takes more pressure to move it and it stays out. Still gonna try to take it off and see if I don't face plant into the tree when climbing with forearms.

Very nice review! I myself like the cinch straps. I have them on all my climbers and that and having a bar to sit on saved my butt a week ago. Somehow the bottom of my climber twisted/kicked out whatever and dropped.. My face met the tree and my harness/belt stopped me. I was able to get up on to the bar and use the straps to pull the bottom back up. Without the seat bar... Who knows. It was my fault, I had the straps too long because I was in a hurry. I was trying to climb too fast. So, reconsider the sit and climb bar. You can tuck it behind your legs when you are at your hunting height. Just a thought. Great review!

Thank u!! Climbers can sometimes can do some crazy things. I had a ole man slip down a oak tree about three feet and scare the crap out of me. Safety harness always ! Good luck on your season. Thanks again !

I was 19, and in Texas (Ft. Hood, or whatever the hell they think they had to rename it to anymore) and a guy in my platoon from Alabama got me into hunting pigs and bass fishing...it's been a pretty deep rabbit hole since then.

Great review, one thing, if you attatch those stabilizer straps to the rear portion of the platform the top section should be a lot more secure, stable

Excellent review Sir. I had the exact same problem.... The seat does not make it easy to hunt. It causes the top section to fall easily. I just ordered a net seat. I hesitated spending so much on a lone wolf so I got this. Overall for my first climber, I don't regret it. Xop sent me a set of new connecting arms after I told them one of the nuts came loose. For free and within 3 days. I appreciate your honesty and humility. Nice to know I ain't the only guy with frustration over the seat. I am going to try taking off the sit bar... Long as I'm tethered and slow that is. I'm with you on how nicely it packs up. Keep up the great work and give us an update after hunting with it.... I am curious if it will be easier but just as safe without the sit bar. Revelation 20.
@simplesouthernoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Thank u!!! I appreciate your feedback. The net seat has made a major difference in the climber. There is one thing I did after I made this video that I would like to update. Removing the sit bar just makes everything easier for me. I like to use my arms to pull myself up. But I recommend whatever makes you feel the safest….

I cut the back off my lone wolf seat. Made it a little better. Never knew of a better replacement option. Revelation 20? Scripture about a throne and a bottomless pit. Hmmm. I may not want an xop....lol 🙏👍

When you take the sit bar off how are you attaching the top section to the bottom section for transport?
@simplesouthernoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
It comes with a Bungee strap to attach the top to the bottom when folded down to carry.

How did you get the sit bar off. I’m having trouble reaching the nut inside the railing?
@simplesouthernoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Great question !! It’s been awhile since I’ve removed the rail. So I’m having a little trouble remembering. I think I removed those caps to access that bolt. I have the rail stored away at the moment. I will check in on that when I’m around that way.

Why did they quit making this climber? Anyone know?

Think they are still making them. Looks like several stores have them on backorder.

Wondering what the weight of the stand is in this configuration.

I believe it came in at about 20 pounds with net seat and removed front rail. I will double check to confirm. Thank for watching !

With the top dropping maybe u should demonstrate the stand on a tree with bark.

I did not have straps in the right location at the bottom. Moving the straps back helps in preventing the top falling. Thanks to the comments helping me out on that one. :) Thank you for watching !

An old friend of mine got me into hunting when I was a teenager. I have this Stand and the Lone Wolf version. I rarely use it. I would rather use my hand climber because I don’t feel constrained in that narrow top with the net seat. When I want comfort, I carry my summit viper. There are less moving parts making it easier to get on and off the tree

That’s awesome! I’ve tried to find just the hand climber top to add to my setup. Out of stock everywhere. Agreed the summit viper is super comfortable. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching .

So we've basically got a copy of lone wolfs sit and climb. With a few modifications so you can't use their belts with my lone wolf pretty much forcing people to buy their stand if they want a "lone wolflike" stand. I like it. I guess. Except that it's made in China. May have to get one as my lone wolf belts are outdated and I can't seem to buy new ones. Anyway. My first memories of hunting would be when my Dad used to drag me along grouse hunting. Couldn't shoot one at 6 years old but it was cool watching the dog work.
@simplesouthernoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct. Same owner of lone wolf and sold out. Then started a new company with xop. With lone wolf made in USA and XOP made in China with a cheaper price tag pretty much. I could be wrong though :) Awesome story with your dad! Thank you for your feedback and thanks for watching !

I’ll be first. Great review. I’ve been looking at the xl version of this climber. It does seem like you have to be more careful with this climber before you tighten the straps down. I’m concerned with how easily the top half fell when you lifted up on the front. As for your questions Co-worker 50 Turkey
@simplesouthernoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Thank you ! Yes the top will drop pretty easily without some tension on the platform with the straps. Pack down and carry is a great feature in this climber. Turkey hunting! That’s awesome ! Good luck to you on the hunting season .
