The sound recorded on the iPhone was muffled, the Sony was louder and clearer, but the iPhone got the point. Many of the photo's on the iPhone were unnatural, over sharpened, over saturated and with contrast too high. For example the high contrast made the white lines on the blue blouse too strong and the fabric looks enhanced. The colour in all indoor iPhone videos were completely wrong. Yes, the highlights on the Xperia were blown out in some cases but I actually liked the photos better as the colour, contrast and balance were more natural.

Xperia has some trouble with exposure (and sometimes with focus also), but the color science is unmatched. You can manually adjust the focus and exposure, but you cannot properly color-correct a shot before taking it (and losing the source detail). The Sony Xperia is unmatched if you put in the effort to get a proper shot. Even the budget Xperia 10 VI, which has terrible sensors, can produce much more natural shots than most current phones.

The reviewer is too used to phone computation producing HDR like images. Sony is exposing to the face as priority, hence there is some over exposed highlights in the background for bright day light photos. It's just a style preference. Her macro shots using Sony is nowhere near what the Xperia 1 VI can do.

Sony looks better to my eyes, it has deeper highlights and shadows details meaning more dynamic range and less looking overprocessed and flat. And it looks more natural with the Sony cameras. "iphone better dynamic range" is a myth. If the camera could not get enough details and try to overprocess the image, it does not mean it has better dynamic range. Sony could process the same way and make it even more flat and washed out, but of course it would look ugly, they know what they do

You should have compare pictures from manual modes too. I don't own either phone but I liked the Sony pictures more. Audio quality on sony also seemed better. iPhone may have better post processing in some cases but it most seems to be lifting up the shadows too much, reducing highlights by a lot and increasing contrast/clarity leading to unnatural looking photos.

Just because iphone is capturing dull pictures, that doesn't mean it's accurate. Your skin is a lil magenta and not as brown as iphone is showing. Why people think that looking dull in pictures are something close to the real world. The world is more colourful than you think. I've seen the same with google pixel smartphones too. le problème avec ce genre de test, c'est que la moitié d'entre vous ne connaisse pas Sony sur LES REGLAGES PROFESSIONNELS, qui, je le rappelle, est l'un des meilleurs photophone que l'on connaissent. Les amoureux de la photographie préférons le Sony XPERIA 1v ET LE 1VI car il y a les options photographiques ultra optimisés et les prises de vidéos optimisés, à vous dire qui il a toutes les options d'une caméra professionnelles d'une boité reflexe minimum sur un Sony, ce qui biaise toute avis sur le simple prise de photo et de vidéos sans modifications( exemple dans cette vidéos ytb...) pour vous dire que sont depuis la sortie des xperia 1,5 et 10, il a un bouton semi-bouton pour ne serait-ce que la prise de photo, alors que l'iPhone va a peine s'y mettre... ce teste n'est pas forcément a prendre à la lettre... mais c'est quand même une bonne vidéos la présentatrice est classe quand même, ça rattrape tout lol.
