What is even more "interesting" is that in blind tests usually the Pixel wins or goes all the way to the finals or very close but when the test isn't blind, people vote the iPhone. Placebo effect. I have had people ask me what iPhone I have when I share photos of friends and family in the group chat and be all surprised when I tell them I don't have an iPhone, I have a Pixel. And then they say things like "But that's such a good camera" implying that only an iPhone can take good photos. Apple won at making the masses believe they are the best at everything.

EXACTLY, with MKBHD's test last year 2023, it was 7a, 8 Pro, and Fold. That's over 21 millions. GOld/SIlver and Bronze 2022 was Pixel 6a and 7pro - Gold and Silver. So while people may tell you how consistent Iphone is, it's really the Pixel when the pictures aren't labeled.

Honestly OnePlus 12 took better shots than Honor 6 Magic Pro in the final part. Honor's night photo is a bit more saturated compared to the photo taken by OnePlus's. The Pixel did a well against every opponent. I think it would be a better idea to add more scenarios to the final part such as main camera, macro, wide camera and night mode. Also every previous champ to be included in the competition.

What happens is in normal camera comparisons youtubers look at even aspect of the shot but in blind camera test we choose for the shot that looks more eye pleasing to us which is why pixel always win such test.

Pixel is behind in portrait mode because portrait mode cannot be used with a telephoto lens but you can take portraits from automatic mode with the telephoto lens. Thanks to the lens having a smaller angle, you can focus on larger objects, in this case people. This results in a natural background blur and not a processed one like in the mode Portrait

Tests like these, much like when Marques Browlee did it before, tend to kick out the iPhone at their initial stages which only further emphasises my theory that the iPhone may have its strengths when it comes to photography, overall it isn't up there with the best and very often when reviewers and people say it is, it's just placebo effect from it being an Apple product, and they are very good at marketing and influencing the masses into believing their product is the absolute best. Don't get me wrong, they do make good stuff, I am not saying otherwise.
