@AndroidTechDaily HI Chris, the FOTA update so far only works for the Verizon™ play in the US, any other Play has to be connected to PC Companion. So I'd suggest you to go to the Sony Ericsson website and download it, connect your phone to your computer to confirm if there are any updates available for your phone. -Josh

@ozera16 To increase the battery life while playing there are a few things you can do. For example lower the brightness, if you don't need internet turn off the 3G/2G and/or the WI-Fi connection and I'm sure this will help to play for a longer time. -Josh

Please know that a standby time specification is an industry standard. The only intention is to allow comparison of different mobile phones under the same circumstances. Network, settings, location, movement, signal strength, cell traffic, etc, strongly effect standby power consumption. When any mobile phone is used under circumstances for which the mobile phone is intended the actual standby time could be considerably lower and will be strongly dependent on the factors mentioned above. -Nessa

battery went from 100% to 0% after exactly 12-13 hours with little to no use for a week until i grabbed Advanced Task Killer from Play Store, now my battery goes from 100% to 75% in 12 hours, sooo happy again, still thinking about buying one of those 2300-2430mah batteries on ebay. love these videos, I think I watched them all the day i got my new BBF aka my Xperia Play =D

It is not normal that the phone feel warm if it is off. I'd suggest to contact your local Sony Mobile service center for a possible evaluation of the unit. -Josh

It could be a software problem. To confirm if this is the case download and run PC Companion from our website, run the Repair my Phone option which should re-install the software on the phone. -Josh

@tonycool417 depends if you're playing lots of games or not, if you dont then it will last 14 hours. you can almost double that if you do turn off the "smart" features like they say. But if you play lots of games dont expect it to last all day

Sorry to say but there is no ICS update for that phone. You might have to find a 3rd party update if you want to have ICS on your phone. -Josh

Where is that Power Control Widget you show in the video?, there's only a "status switch" widget on my device which is downward ugly and clumsy, I want one as streamlined as the one you show on this video, and free.

Hey, my xperia play with the wi-fi off only lasts 5 hours while I'm playing on it most of the time. I just bought it, the battery seemed really good before charging it for the first time. First time the phone turned off because of the battery, i plugged it, and in 5 seconds it unplugged, I don't know why. Then I plugged it again and turned it on while charging. In 2 hours the battery went to 100% The battery now doesn't seem as good at the first time. Should I calibrate it?

Hi Josh!please help,.im having problem downloading small file apps,like file locker.after downloading,it cant install and an error says insufficient space on disc?however i can download and install bigger files like games for example..im thinking that some of the files are installing in internal memory.how do i delete files from there?or is there a different reason for it not installing?please help

@sonyericssonsupport im also from ireland and on the vodafone network and theres is no update for 2.3.4 on the phone or the pc suite.... this has angerd me greatly as i just got it for christmas and assumed it would come 2.3.4 pre installed since the update was released ages ago..... big disapointment as i now have no hd video and seriously thinking of selling my phone.

my xperia play lasted 2 days worth of battery... i dont know how but i did: turn off gps, turn off data traffic, and i got a new 'go launcher' (i dont know how that helps)
