my dad had one S, i remember that the camera and screen was amazing when i first saw it, my first sony phone was the xperia z1, god how i loved this phone, im working on get a xperia 1v, but is too expensive rn

Still have my Xperia S from 2012 that's in working condition - at the time, it had the highest display resolution in any phone at the time (along with the HTC Rezound) with that stunning 720p display. By the way, the main camera is capable of 1080p recording. Like your phone, my port covers have come off too.

I had one too. Started with w880i then w995 then Xperia S , Galaxy S5, Galaxy s10+. Now i juste bought a pixel 8a (a gem)

It didn't have any lag when it was new. Even with Android 3 something, there was no lag. I just replaced the battery with a new one. However, something is slowing this phone down, maybe a memory problem, maybe a factory reset will help. Maybe this will reformat the internal memory, too? The media server background process is consuming a lot of energy. However, I don't know if it is possible to install apps once it is down to 2.3. Maybe manually via USB?
