xpize - A visual enhancer for Windows XP (Demo)

Ever thought Windows XP could use a new look? Well, xpize might be the program for you. It's a visual enhancer pack that brings a whole bunch of new features and enhancements to Windows XP, and gives it a "more Windows XP style" look. It was last updated in 2009 (as of the recording of this video), but it still does its job very well. It supports both Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, and there are 2 versions available. One for RTM, SP1, and SP2, while the other is for SP3.

the media center style theme especially the tasbar,buttons and start button is what the original luna really should have been too bad they didnt have watercolour a reason some things may not show up is because you had 16 bit colour

They should´ve just included more colours to begin with. The Royale theme is nice, but so is the default theme. And they shoud´ve included Watercolour regardless of what people thought.

Good video. A "2000-ize" would appeal to me more. I did patch Windows 2000 graphics into XP SP1 to remove most Fisher Price icons, but couldn't be bothered to redo it for later service packs. Server 2k3 would look so much better. I went out to download the Bliss HD wallpaper just now. I didn't think it was available, without a contact with the photographer. The original was badly pixellated, even for monitors of the day (46,568 byte optimized....). M$ could have done better considering they paid for the picture. I hate how big corporations always skimp on media quality and err on the side of smaller. You can see this in streaming bitrates and game assets, etc.

Why is the display color mode (Control Panel > Display > Settings > Color quality) set to 16-bit instead of 32-bit? That's probably why the theming wasn't complete. Windows icon files, for instance, have separate assets for different color modes (full 32-bit w/ transparency, 256 colors chosen from a 16-bit palette, and 16 colors).

This pack changes all the old icons from windows 2000-me and 9x older nt versions that haven’t changed to Xp fan made ones but if you set to 16 colors would actually revert windows 2000/me 9x icons for everything

Rectify11 led me down this sorta rabbit hole of tweaks that enhance old Windows' GUIs. I would've loved these back in the day. The inconsistencies like the un-updated icons from prev. Windows always irked me. Aaand it still does or I wouldn't have known about Rectify11, lol.

Actually the last version of Windows from Windows XP is Windows ME, beacause 2000 was released in December 1999 (Close to 2000) and ME was released in 2000 itself.

Logo on system properties without black box. You need to change screen color depth to 32 Bits

To change the icon size, you would click "appearance" in display properties, then click "effects" or "advanced". I can't remember exactly which one it is, but I know it's one of them.

Doesn't work that good anymore. I am running XP 32 bit with SP3 and it gives an error message every time when I try to launch the xpize settings. Error code: 0xc0000135. It says it can't Initialize the program. And after the installation is complete and after the restart the xpize added thems don't show up. Btw I am running the 4.7 release because version 5 could not be intstalled. Is there someone with the same issue? I need help

pokekid I found another site where I could download the setup files. I found out that some how version 5 does't work for me. But the version 5 beta 4 does for me. So I still got it working.

31337 Clan I Think there is a way to install longhorn on USB. just burn it with PowerISO it should work then stick it in into your pc then.. Use BIOS to change the date "Depens on the longhorn bulid your using" Then you can boot from USB or install it

Robloxs Xtremeguy Windows Nashville (the original) was cancelled, there is a build of it though, and it is available on sites like 'winworld' and 'beta archive', I haven't put it into a VM yet as I haven't had time- so it would be interesting to see what it introduced.
