As horrible as it sounds, Victorian death photography is very fascinating. There was a high mortality rate in babies & children back then. Which explains why they had so many kids, most were not going to make it. Then add the fact that adults had a short life expectancy, no wonder they took photos with their dead loved ones. Yeah, I think a lot of times that photo was the ONLY photo they had of their child, since cameras were expensive and there weren't that many professional photographers around. So I guess they figured that a lifelike photo of the child after death was better than no photo at all.

I am also interested in post-mortem photography. Back then, photography was expensive, and people couldn’t afford to have photographs made of family. When someone died, they would have a photograph taken of their deceased family member to remember them by.

The thing about those Victorian death photos (not sure if you're aware), very often, the only time someone would have had a photo taken of them would be upon their death, as it was a) not very common, or easy to have done, and b) was quite expensive. Today, we literally have thousands of photos of just our dog alone ( no? just me on that one? ok...), it's so commonplace. Even when I was a kid in the 70's, there were tons of photos. But when photography was new and novel, it was very rare indeed. As always, a great video. I always laugh, get spooked, and then laugh again! Keep up the excellent work!!

The Victorian death photos may be creepy to some but I believe they are beautiful remembrances of their loved ones. It was quite rare and expensive to have photos taken back then, something we all take for granted. Today there are videos on KZbin of families sharing last moments with stillborn babies, I believe these babies somehow know they are loved. Good explore! 👍

Joe, I get what you’re saying about the warm, welcoming demon child, but consider this: Your body is way more in tune than any device you carry. If you feel unease, or chills usually just on your legs, there is strangeness and possible darker spirits about. With warm comforting feelings, that’s most likely a good sign, accompanied by light feelings in the chest, tingles on the arms and back! Just some things to consider. I am wary of spirits that make contact or try to set me up, so I understand where you’re going with that theory.

This is interesting, one of the two personal experiences I’ve had included being touched on the back and it wasn’t a horrible experience, just very strange as lots of activity happened during one day at my parents house that I’d never had experiences at before or since, I believe she was trying to comfort me….i heard a lot of wheezy breathing and about six months later found out a previous occupant died at the house, an old lady with COPD.
