I love Xploshi's cursed shorts. They're like parodies of typical analogue horror videos, taking their tropes to their absolute limits. More intended to be funny than scary, hence their supposed "CURSED" descriptive terms. The timing is usually on point, and the lightning fast pace leaves little breathing room. Despite the fast pacing and hilarious undertones, the atmosphere is surprisingly well-handled, feeling like lost remnants of a forgotten medial era. I will never get tired of these.

On Friday the 13th, me and my pals were chilling at the abandone crumbing ruins of what used to be the local Blockbuster. This was our typical hangout spot, with nothing out of the ordinary as long as you don't mind overgrowth and rubble, but today something was different... My squad and I were shooting the shit as usual, until the earth started to shake with a minor earthquake. It wasn't a big deal, until a chunk of the ceiling fell onto the ground. It didn't hit any of us thankfully, but the rays of sunlight now shining in illuminated a sole DVD case: The Nutshack's complete first season. That was odd, we hung out at this abandoned Blockbuster almost daily and had checked it for any stray media and had never seen this DVD before.Upon closer inspection, the DVD's case was smeared with a red substance - quite possibly blood - but the inside was in tact with all disks unscratched and seeming to be perfectly useable.One of my friends recognized the cartoon, The Nutshack, and explained it to the rest of us; it was a critically hated adult animated series full of bad animation and voice acting and loaded with offensive, vulgar, gross, and juvinille humor. Our squad, being fans of ironic memery, agreed that this would be perfect to marathon together, and we manage to hook up the TV we kept here and inserted the DVD into the DVD player. It ran normally and we went to watch the pilot episode.The theme song came on showcasing the cast of The Nutshack, none of which having any sort of appeal, while the words "It's the Nutshack" were repeated over a rap beat. So far, the quality was just as expected, and all of us were ironically loving it.However, before the repetitive chorus could shift to equally terrible verses about the main cast and the general concept of The Nutshack, the old tube TV's screen we were watching this wonderful disaster errupted into a mess of glitchy pixels before the DVD was somehow automatically ejected from its player. Sighing in frustration, I went to pop the disc back in. Before I could start it up again, our cheap DVD player began to leak blood. The room was cast in impossible shadow as The Nutshack began replaying again, but this time, the openimg was much different... The terribly animated sequence now took on a grotesque appearance. It was slowed down and tinted a dark blood red with harsh yellow contrast, and the song was slowed down and distorted with the vocals being completely unable to be understood to the point where it could barely be considered music anymore; if anything it was the song of the dead. Then then verses kicked in.The clips of the main characters that flashed on screen were terrifying to say the least. Jack, Phil, Horat, and "Dick" were all horribly disfigured; all of them were covered in stitches and hyperrealistic blood that greatly contrasted the shitty animation, and their eyes all seemed to be void holes leaking similarly realistic blood. The remote wouldnt work, the TV's buttons wouldn't work, and even unplugging the TV still had it run like normal.The nightmarish opening finally ended and in place of the original pilot opening was a wall of static. We held our breath.Suddenly, Phil and Jack's hellish counterparts broke through the white noise."WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FORGOTTEN" they said in unison. They had their original terribly acted voices but they seemed to echo together with an eldritch quality. "WE WERE CONTENT WITH NEVER BEING BROUGHT BACK. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN"The abandoned Blockbuster began to shake violently, moreso than any other earthquake."YOU JUST WANT US TO SUFFER"The walls started to leak blood in the hellish tremors "NONE OF US ASKED TO BE MADE. NONE OF US WANT TO LIVE LIKE THIS"The TV's screen followed suit; the blood's hyper realism made it impossible to tell if it was digital or physical."SO WE'LL MAKE YOUR LIVES A LIVING HELL JUST LIKE OURS"With that the bleeding Blockbuster went completely pitch black. The quakes stoppd to. We couldn't see anythinn, not the TV, not anything in the rubble, nor even each other. I tried to scream, but no words came out.White noise began to ring in our ears, slowly becomming louder. The pitch surroundings gradually took on the appearance of static to accompany it. All was this staticy void, until we began to hear it, gradually bevoming louder over the drone of the white noise:its the nutshack its the nutshack ITS THE NUTSHACK I T S T H E N U T S H A C K
