Thank you for a great video and channel! I gave most of my Hytera gear away to a local volunteer fire department and really miss them for the “FPP” functionality. I still have a few XPR-7550e left to use for family emergency use. While Motorola is a beast of a radio (I still have Quantar UHF R2 repeaters up and running in a closed rack cabinet in a “not so clean environment” in a rooftop elevator mechanical room. I installed them as a favor as temp fire dept repeaters while they awaited their ordered hardware during the migration from VHF-Low Band 46.xx to UHF “T-Band”. They used 2 freq pairs licensed to their ambulance squad during the transition. They are STILL up and running perfectly (but w/my licensed IG/business band UHF freq pairs) and BpBr duplexers since 2001 ! No service (repairs) other than dusting out the cabinets every year. They made radios and repeaters that were built like tanks!

Thank you for the test. Getting ready to give my highway patrol friend, who uses the APX7000 and DMR7550 on vhf. I have a vhf and uhf dmr system and have found the uhf out performs vhf all the time. Hilly area in SC. We are changing the duplexer on vhf today, and adding a amp,just recently changed the antenna. I'm perplexed that this is happening, but your test are showing giving me a lot of good info. I honestly preferthe 6550, it seems like a better built radio.

Awesome! Well check out the latest video where we actually tested a VHF APX7000…. I was blown away by the results! Stay safe

The APX6000 vs 7000 have AMAZING receivers in them and are light speed ahead of the XTS 5000. I have both and when doing an alignment I was floored with how much more sensitive and selective the receiver was in the APX.

Maybe I missed it, but are you using VHF or UHF for your test, and are both the p25 and DMR radios being tested on the same band?
@RANTStrategies8 ай бұрын
Hey Dave, so all of the tests were done in the UHF/70cm band, this includes the analog testing, DMR & P25 modes.

@@RANTStrategies Very interesting comparison. Thank you!!

I notice you had the xpr laying down? And the xts standing up? Iffy on locati😱

Hey Keith, the actual receiver isn’t shown in those pictures, they were stock images of the type of radio. For this testing, both receivers were standing straight up

The DMR audio is horrible as usual... I would be ashamed to produce such a standard....🙈 P25 better Newer P25 much better Newer TETRA (HD) much better (old TETRA horrible)
