I notice the rear loco doesnt power up when xpt starts to move, then powers up later, is that to put tension on the couplings from the front loco then get aided by the rear loco after that? Jm

I’m guessing so

The power cars move forward after you hear the brake pressure released (I guess Notch 1 power selected, engines idling). Any delay between the two power cars responding I imagine is incidental and not by design.

Thanks for posting. But you really need to improve your filming technique.

@@Connors_Trainz_Vlogs Hi, i wasn't being nasty or sarcastic. Just trying to help. I've been video filming trains and planes since 1982. I made lots of mistakes that I learned from. The more you film the more you learn. In your case here you were using the camera like it was strapped to your head and seeing everything your eyes would see by turning your head here and there. And you kept the camera running picking up every movement without a break and zooming in and out too quickly. Ok, Try to have a rough idea of what you want to film. Look around and pick a spot or spots to film from. Test a shot through the viewfinder to see what it looks like and whether it would be best to start zoomed in or out, before you press start. Set the scene, in this case a few seconds steady shot of the station name (stop). Then a long shot of the track looking toward the bridge where you're expecting the train from (stop). Then start by being already zoomed closer to the bridge when the train was there and then gradually zoom out as it approached and stops. The shot of the train guard waiting was good. Then you could have changed the angle to make it interesting by running down to the front of the train. Start by being zoomed in on the guard and zoom out to take in the front of the train (stop). Get ready for it to depart and pan round as it leaves and off into the distance. Throughout any bit of filming steady your stance before you start and try keep the camera as steady as possible. A good tip is to take a deep breath and hold it as long as you can just before you start a sequence, especially if you are zoomed in close as movement will be greatly exaggerated. Hope this makes sense. If you don't agree that's fine with me.

@@Connors_Trainz_Vlogs Whatever or wherever you're filming just follow some basics like I mentioned. Look at the situation and get an idea of what you want to film. Choose some potential spots to film from. Adopt a good body stance to help you keep as steady as possible. If you're going to film from inside the train make sure you capture outside views of it also. Don't forget to identify where your journey starts and ends by filming station names. Don't leave the camera running too long unless you're filming the train leaving and going off into the distance. And don't keep zooming in and out in the same shot. At the end of the day it's a matter of common sense.
