Female detectives in interrogations are strategically placed. Male detectives don’t take the lead because females can’t do it. They take the lead because male suspects are usually more comfortable speaking to a male. Female detectives usually say little for most of the interrogation but their mere presence is sometimes enough to keep suspects on edge. Then, as we saw in this video, they are more effective at appealing to the suspect’s emotions or for drawing sympathy back to the victim or the victim’s family. The female detective in this video started off not saying anything. So when she spoke and called the suspect out on his lie, it was that much more impactful. I don’t doubt that her appearance as a motherly figure begging for an answer to give to the victim’s family really weighed heavily on the suspect’s conscience. Absolutely fantastic job from both detectives and if anybody in the chat questioned why the female detective was there initially, I hope they noticed how big a role she played at the end.

Self control is a very valuable thing to have, and never get caught in the heat of the moment. He presented regret, which was deserved, but for others, should be taken as a lesson. i find it funny how people like to act like killers like this are all Psychos but the reality is alot of them are just normal humans who made an impulse decision in a fit of rage. i just find it weird how people wants to pretend these people are not human or feel emotions etc i guess it makes them sleep better at night.

its amazing how the female detetective, using this mother figure strategy makes you, even as the viewer, feel guilty and desperately want for this guy to tell them what happened to make her stop begging. It clearly worked and was an effective strategy. Its also really interesting how planned out these interrogations are. Her tapping him with her foot so she can deploy a different strategy or signal him to take a different approach. Amazing. I would've cracked under her pressure too.

Of course JCS is great and entertaining, but I disagree sometimes with the "put yourself in their shoes if you were innocent" scenarios. I feel like if I knew these investigators were looking for someone that I worked with, I would try to be as detailed as possible to help in any way I could. The amount of information you're giving shouldn't have too much weight to how innocent or guilty you are.

Love how the female detective literally ROLLED him and essentially got the initial admission off him, and chat is like FeMaLE mAlD So for anyone who watched all the way through and still thinks that, here's a little lesson in dominance for you. its not all about appearances and first impressions Yes. The male interrogator is initially the only confronting individual and "in control" of the investigation, while she is completely quiet for the first part of the questioning. and it may create the illusion that he is the leading investigator in the room. He may be the confrontational force in their duo, but she is definitely supervising the room and waiting for the right time to chime in with *intentional* emotional exhaustion. She is literally assessing the situation from the sidelines at any given moment to see cracks in his character. Notice how in 29:50 and 31:31 she gives little taps with her foot to cue her partner to give her room to speak, and then triggers her clearly well-crafted emotional manipulation. Its amazing how yall see how intentional everything the detectives do is and yet choose to ignore it when its a woman. If she really was getting "emotional" no one would let her stay there, and to begin with, no investigator would be this unprofessional and still be let into such high-risk investigations. This wasn't a murder case, at that time it was a *missing person* case. That means they dont only need a confession, they need it NOW, in a timely fashion you can say, because this may save her life. Not only would they not let an emotional andy on such case, they would put their best duo. Which they did, cause these two worked perfecty together, exactly because he is abdicating for her emotional "tantrums". He is letting her lead under the table (quite literally) with a very unusual, yet clearly effective technique. It was one of the fastest confessions we've seen yet, and again, the first admission of any wrong doing (taking her in his car) was given directly to her inquiry, not his. Just putting it out there, maybe assess the situation with a little bit of critical thinking instead of being "girl moment lol" Andys. Its kind of weird how this wrong perception of women is hauting even when we're doing as great a job as she did, cause people are so set on stereotypical ironys. In this case, the fact the woman is perceived as emotional when we're literally discussing the action of cold-blooded murder in a momentary spur of anger and lack of self control by an adult male who just snapped someones neck like a twig for rumors. Good one dud.
