They know the city in and out, they know how to think like crims, and they chase the biggest criminals and best drivers pretty much daily. Trust me, there isn't anything X can do that they haven't already seen. You should try watching a few cop streams to hear how well they communicate too. When I started watching I thought the exact same thing. Then you realise that doing chases for hours and hours a day, you kinda learn to understand patterns and stuff.. Just like how a pro CS player knows where to wall bang and where guys might hide.
