And it's bad because now every newer car locks the doors when you drive + all windows are electric. I heard that tesla has a manual door opener which when it's pressed / pulled overrides everything. I guess that speed it's the key of surviving, if you are fast enough you open the door or lower your window before get's short circuited. Also i think that after you break your window you can kick it out with your foot, but before the car fills with water, because in water your kick will going to be much weaker.

in a tesla, probably, most wont have the strength to open the door even in full submergeance not a tesla, you can break the window if its not laminated, or use the manual crank if you have one there's always the trunk as a last ditch effort if it's hydrolic, not much help but the extra force assistance might be enough to make the difference if you weren't strong enough to open the door, nothing to lose if both the window and the door is no go anyway since you'll sink motor first, you can probly pop the trunk before submergeance too, most trunks are completely mechanical but in reality a window failure is extremely unlikely especially if you react fast, most if not all the electronics is heavily water proof the real problem is most people won't be in a state of mind to even think of undoing their seatbelt, not uncommon for people who go this way to still be belted in their seat, prob just froze in panic trying to call for help
