If by "mature" you mean became politically correct and hates when younger people act stupid to piss of older people, then I guess he "matured" he's no different from a Facebook mom who thought games made school shooters and weed was made satanists. He's old and hates when younger people act in ways he sees as "offensive". And ultimately, amassing an audience of spiteful envious failures who jump on any bandwagon online lynching made it so when he inevitably failed to live up to a virtuous forward thinking progressive, they turned on him. Only the most more loyal parts of his audience stayed. Even the sponsors left. After all the cancelations he did, he deserves to taste his own medicine.

One of the reasons he is alot more PC now is because he has companies and employees livelihoods to consider also. If Ethan acted out the way he used to it would negatively affect these companies. Teddy Fresh for example. Not to mention that people just change sometimes too, they don't owe us anything.
@Abravus2 жыл бұрын
And the audience owes nothing to them. Just because a PC persona brings in the sponsorships doesn't mean it'll bring in the loyal fan base who watched for the old persona
@gr33dycat2 жыл бұрын
True, but either way they're doing better financially now than they ever have so they only way this would be considered a "downfall" would be the change in content and therefore the fan base. They aren't who they used to be anymore and can't cater to the original fan base, as much as we would like them to keep making the golden age content.
@Abravus2 жыл бұрын
@@gr33dycat I agree that there isn't much of a financial downfall, but I think the title was referring to something closer to a worsening of public perception. Think of it like this, the Battlefield games were a beloved series for many. However, recent titles (2042 in particular) have been regarded as lazy and mediocre at best (even "PC" in the case of V). Fans have criticized EA for these decisions and compare them to older, more beloved titles that were clearly more polished. As a result, the player base for 2042 is abysmal, players instead opting for earlier titles. I'm sure there are a multitude of videos titled something along the lines of "The downfall of battlefield/EA", but in the end, EA is far from bankrupt. 2042 still made revenue despite being a low effort creation. However, the public perception of the series is still far from what it was with people wishing for the "old battlefield" and criticizing the new direction the series has taken. I see people's reaction to the "new h3h3" as no different.

The downfall of H3H3 started when he became what he used to make fun of and when he started to think his opinion is worth a damn.... It's crazy, when people become rich they start to think their opinion is worth more than everyone else's and that it is their duty to -preach- "teach" everyone else.

100% and what makes it even worse is that their opinions are often oversimplified and disingenuous dog shit. They went from making short form comedy reaction vids to podcast chit chat... All the way to today where I'm not even sure what they do now? Some ragebait argumentative rant meta shit where ethan claps back at different people each time & his wife sits there grinning every so often & raining him in every now and then when he goes overboard.

All I get from this is fans in general, not just on YT are just so entitled and unapologetic in their outbursts. If people make shit content, it won't make as much money and it's as simple as that. You didn't 'deserve' a better video, the shit is free. To think that watching free content entitles you to deserve something from a creator is ridiculous, the only case you deserve anything is when you pay for something in advance and expect a product in return equal to the amount you invested. Creators should show they value their viewers and are thankful that they keep coming back but they don't owe anyone anything more than what they've already done to get you to come back. At the end of the day, creators with any size audience have only one responsibility and that is to not spread anything that can cause harm. That's it.

Kinda old but the thing with reaction content is that streamers are almost always reacting. Be it actual videos or gameplays, it’s almost always “react content.” Viewers might watch a streamer to have a good time or whatever, but I would bet that at least 30% of viewers watch X play Elden Ring to see his “reaction” at an insane boss or enemy in the world. There are so many viewers who watch streamers seeking validation for their own opinions. It’s like asking a streamer “what’s your take on ___.” It’s like you are getting a mini reaction. TLDR: 90% of streams are “react content,” and “react content” doesn’t just come from videos. It can come from anything a streamer does, and many viewers are watching to see the reactions.
