It doesn't necessarily kill the games, but they do often run into a weird spot for a moment before all adjustments are made. it means more balancing work for the devs and I personally lose interest after a certain point, but that's a personal opinion. I understand why games reinvent the games that way. It would obviously run into different problems by keeping the exact same roster for years, such as redundancy and ironclad comps

I never understood why people shat on Paladins that whole deck system was so dope, it made each game punitive and high stake. There was never meta in ranks, the only major comps were new champions release. That's because you could turn tanks into offtank or flanks, have better mobility, go for hero play in the sky and shit reloading ammo with each kill, etc. I was grinding that game when OW1 was dog back in like 2020. My Androxus and Maeve was on a different level of ADHD. I think the hitboxes is what made the game bad at low ranks because the mass only focus on aim instead of strategy. In high elo you had to be on meth to stay alert to everything and that's where all the fun was as opposed to OW "they have the meta comp and one of my teammate is throwing = I lose 15 minutes of my life for a definite loss or I get lucky but hate my life after."

For most people the deck system in Paladins is the "shop" of Dota/CS, people liked Overwatch because they didn't have to deal with any of that shit in between, everybody is on an even playing field. Additionally: the lack of "weight" and "feedback" on actions becomes apparent quite fast. Marvel Rivals is also a prime example of that, it's why people tune in and go "holy what is this, idk what is happening lmao".

Magnetos damage as a tank mixed with Groot and Rocket teamed up on his back healing the main tank, AND having combined abilities. And just...Hela and Starlord being insane DPS matched with Punisher...SHEEESH

just so everyone knows, they put in the contract (if xqc got access from signing it which he may not have) that content creators cant say anything bad about the game and I think comparing it to OW also breaks contract technically (though they wont enforce that as its bad business). Quite a scummy move and very rare. Then again it is NetEase so no surprises there really. At least the game looks good though.

Game feels random, to be honest. Abilities don't really click. Character designs are kinda dull. The game doesn't seem to translate your skill or your strategy into winning. For example, when you use spider-man's swing, there is no objective way of knowing where it will grapple and in what direction it will launch you, so you may randomly hit a wall. Also, some characters have simply broken abilities, such as creating an area where anyone that dies immediately revives, or flying forever with no cooldown. The game itself isn't designed to be balanced or competitive
