Hello, I wanted to ask if perhaps you could do a tutorial on how to configure hand tracking on a character? I mean put hand tracking in the hands of a character and not have to use only phantom hands? for quest 2

Hey Dilmer, any thoughts of a hybrid simulator? Use the desktop screen for the headset monitor (as with the simulator), but still use the hand controllers, rather than the keyboard/mouse. I am sure it is doable, but not sure if it is a good idea or not.

Interesting, but wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of a simulation ? Currently you can use Oculus link which you can use the controllers and desktop screen.

@@dilmerv i think the worst thing about vr development is the constant on and off of the headset. simulating the controllers sucks though, especially for action based games. i wouldn't mind switching from M+K to controllers though.

@@dilmerv Thanks for the response. It's all a trade off to maximize development productivity. Using the keyboard simulator for complex interactions is quite slow, and so we often just go back to the headset. We are using Oculus link for development, I did not realize I can use the just controllers without the headset. I will take a look to see how well that works.

So uhh, this new affordance system apparently blocks you from changing the scale of selected objects without it. Is there any way to re-enable this?

Do you have any sugestions for trying to track "real world" items in 2023? Like a cup for example? I know we can't do qr codes but do you know of any other clever way to track objects? Thanks!

I will look into it thanks for your suggestion, there is nothing currently out of the box to do this but there are options outside of Meta’s tools that may work.

Hi Dilmer. Thanks for the great tutorials. I'm not sure but I think changing the scale using "Uniform Transform Scale Affordance Receiver" doesn't really work the way I expect it to. I want to change the scale of object as soon as I select it or in other words: Select entered. My understanding is that that means when the key is pressed to select the object, not when it's released, is that correct? In the XR Interactable Affordance State Provider, I've selected the "Select Click Animation Mode" to be "Select Entered" but still the transition only happens after I select the object and release the button. Is that a normal behavior?

Thanks for intro to 2.0.3. I like the new features, espacially the dev simulator, just great for testing! How can I force the player to drop an GameObject even though he's still clicking the grab button? Example case: An Object is only grabbale on a certain area. After leaving it, he drops the item automatically. Would help me a lot!

I recommend looking into Shader Graph tutorials as you can learn a lot about how to create really cool materials which will help you with this effect, thanks for your comment.
