xr200r shock service

Rear shock service including seal, upper bearing, and bump stop replacement. Purpose of video is to go over some of the main points, and what I experienced on my first rebuild. Any positive comments are appreciated, Thanks!

Men you should assembly the gaz tank with the shock and put gaz tank upper. Full the shock and the tank completely with suspension fluid and move the shock slowly until all bubble go out. Let rest the shock some hours and insert the nitrogen chamber in the tank pushing all the excessive oil by the nitrogen chamber out just enough to put the clips inside. Then full the nitrogen...

clamp bottom end softly in a vise, place a large adjustable wrench on upper end and tap upwards.

Did you have any issues getting the damper rod out? I cant seem to get it to come out. Both circlips are out, but it feels/sounds like its getting stuck on something.

I did my XR250R that had this identical shock (the old one was shot) and I used Maxima 7wt

wht is the measurement eye too eye 15"? anyone herd you can use an 85 shock on an 83???

I believe it’s 13.25” kind of an odd size. Early xr200r bikes had a rebuildable shock. In ‘92 I think they went to a non-rebuildable junk shock and reduced the travel a little over an inch.

xr 200r have reservoir, xr200 has no reservoir.

The year matters anything 92 and up doesn't have a nitro bottle
