I prefer this riding position vs the cafe racer style. Cool looking bike.

What's the hp/torque curves these rephased motors put out? Been watchin some of your videos and those motors pull!

Wow really nice work there. I know this video is old but nice job

Re-phased engine gives the tire more time between powerstrokes to maintain better traction, and it sounds bad ass! Probably smoother running with the expert balancing of the rotating assembly as well.

That rear disc brake, is that original or converted? Coz mine has also discbrake but spoked wheel... What is the exact model of xs was it?
@matthewcoldicutt59514 жыл бұрын
Rocky, look up the XS pictoral history on you tube. It could be one of three models, all of them later custom models. Personally the roadsters are the pure ones, I feel, but we are all different. The 75,' B' models has standard sliencers that match this bike for sound

what are the advantages of rephased? torque? power? reliability? Thanks

Nope! Not for me. It is ugly for me.

One of the first videos I watched on KZbin six years ago. That rephased motor would absolutely kill in a true dirt tracker. Power just rolls out of it.

Sweet sounding machine! Had a 1980 Yamaha 650 Special which never sounded that good. It was kept in stock condition, which made all the difference.
@matthewcoldicutt59514 жыл бұрын
If you fancy climbing back on to an XS,Patriarch, and you like the rosdsters, the 650 B ( 1975) has particularly lovely , rather loud silencers in standard trim. I have one and everyone who hears the rumble and deep drawl out thinks it magnificent

I think that vibration really dies down once the cam is rephased. Check out Hugh's site if you haven't. Very interesting stuff.
