I love it. My 1st bike was the XS 650, and I had 5 or 6 over the 38 years I rode. I'm going to build a Bobber as well. Those Twins have so much going for it. Check out TC Bros they have everything. They have an awesome Magnito kit that does away with the Batt and so many wires. Of course, it becomes kick only, but it cleans your frame up of so much. I never used my starter on any bike that had the kicker. Deleting the kick start was a money grab for the Bike companies. But the dumbest and most selfish thing to do to their customers. It has left so many riders stranded over the years. Again, killer build.

I couldnt agree more kick is the way to go!!! That’s so cool you have such a history with XS’s. It’s such a cool bike and has made me love Yamaha that much more! You gotta get on that build! Having such a wealth of available parts makes it really fun and enjoyable to do. Hope it turns out great!!! Thank you for checking it out and taking the time to comment. It means a lot! Have a good one.

@TheChapMX I am looking for a XS650 now. We'll one I can swing. As long as the motor isn't seized I don't care. It's distance and time to cover that distance I'm working with now lol. I have a Bobber but built on a theme that I've had rattling in my noggin and some drawings on paper for a while now. I'm about to Sub to your channel. I watched your outtakes lol video and looks like your into a lot of the same stuff. Iv just got a 3rd Gen Integra. I play a strat and been picking from idk seriously from 12 when I learned the basic notes. I'm 54 now I have always loved metal. But my guitar hero is SRV. Has been from the time I heard him play Little Wing. So I play and love the Blues. I'm building a cigar box acoustic electric 6 string but think I'll put a resonator in it to perhaps Pezo too lol. Matter of fact I'm about to cut the F holes out. Instead of the usual F holes like we see on Violins and Fiddles. I'm making the ends look like the end of dragon tales. I'm just debating on going neck or bridge on the single coil. I came close to having a broken back Dads had 3 fusions from military service. In my early teens I was riding an old endero it may have been an Elsinor idk it was a pile of rust no paint just a hand full of go lol. Anyhow I was on a trail and like a dumb butt saw a small field I was gonna cut across to get in front of my Buddy who had a head start on this Big Red 3 wheeler yeah I'm old. Anyhow. Idk if someone had been digging a hole or if it was an old fox den. It was a hole big enough for my front wheel to drop up to the above the fender. The bike did the big whoah but I didn't but for some reason I didnt let go of the bars till just before my back wrapped around the top of the wheel. God was watching over me. At 1st I didn't realize it because I was at a 90 degree angle and in some kinda pain. I couldn't straighten up. One dude said He is paralyzed That didn't help matter. But as I said, the Lord had his eye on me. I just bruised tore and pulled muscles. It took me 2 months crawling around because it was easier and didn't hurt as bad. Before it finally eased up enough for me to catch up with that picture of the man at the head of the line of apes lol. Anyhow gonna check out some more videos. Im interested in a bunch. Oh you may think I'm crazy. I wish Mamaw and Papaw were alive I could show you God's to Honest proof. I'll just say be careful talking about running into a Booger them things are real. Grand parents had 280 acres. Heck even before I knew it. On holidays Mamaw would fix a huge plate of left overs from Thanksgiving or Christmas and a few other dinners. She would have me take I down to the bottoms where the fields Papaw planted every year and leave it on an old well pump house foundation. She would say put it down and just come straight back don't stop. I'm not lieing Bro. Turned out they had this one lone male that I guess watched us and kinda grew up near by. Never tried to harm us. Grunted at me I saw his prints in the swamp. Iv got so many stories Bro. They can be 3 foot from you and you will not only walk past but look right at it and not see it. Anyhow when you go riding Keepem 1 Up and 2 down. Have a good one

Steven, you are awesome man!! Dang your stories have me smiling ear to ear. That’s so freaking cool. I DREAM of being able to play like Stevie Ray, never will but it’s worth trying!! Just the grittiest most emotion filled blues I’ve ever seen. Pure god given talent he had and the effort and work to go along with it. If you’re making a cigar box guitar you gotta check out seasick Steve!! He has some random stuff but he has some good stuff and plays some great music with some very cool homemade guitars. Check out “Don’t ask me” by him, one of my favorites. You ain’t but so old man, I know all about the big Red!! That was a big deal to have reverse on a 3 wheeler she was high class livin!!! First thing I ever rode was an 85 200S. I was hooked then my uncle and I rebuilt his first bike which was a 1977 XR75. Rode the wheels off that thing for a few years till I finally roasted a big end bearing. Still to this day gotta rebuild that. I’m mad at myself for not doing it yet. Never enough time! But good lord man I’m so glad your injuries weren’t worse!! Sounds like it was a rough enough time as is but I’m so glad you didn’t have worse injuries to your spine. It ain’t no fun but we’re blessed to be able to push on another day!! Such a scary but great story man, I love it. Memories we will never forget that’s for dang sure!!! Love the fact you have an integra man the jap 4 cylinders from the 90s will always have a special place in my heart. Put my 20 year old heart soul and minimum wage into that Prelude. Never forget the first time I got it running. Good stuff!! Man you and me both on Grandparents. I miss my grandfathers more every day since the days I lost them. Great story on the creature in the woods!! I know all about the importance of the well foundation for a landmark haha still got one at my grandmas house and it’s standing strong!! Loved your stories so much man I appreciate you taking the time to tell them. Find that XS and put those ideas on paper to life!!!! I can’t wait to hear about the progress! Take care Steven and stick around!!!!!

That engine sounds like it has been phased. Am I correct? I've always described the Yamaha XS 650 as the best British bike England never built. I think many others have felt the same way. LOL

Hey David, surprisingly...no it has not been phased! The exhaust really surprised me when I got it on there, how much of a lope it gave it but I have not phased the motor. That'd be the icing on the cake! I love the XS's as well! I will agree with your description. Take care!

How much did it cost to make it like that? It’s awesome

Thanks man!!! I’d say (and it’s an approximate guess) but probably somewhere around $7,000.

Hey man, what hard tail did you use? I’m trying to find one similar but there are so many to pick from!
@TheChapMX
@TheChapMX 3 жыл бұрын
Oh trust me, I hear you!! I ended up going with the TC Bros hardtail. There were some other ones that had some cooler shapes and lines but this one was tried and true and I knew I could get it ASAP. It lined up perfectly man.
