in December of 2004, Michael released a collection of hits throughout his career called "The Ultimate Collection". it was a 4 CD collection with both his number 1 hits and rare, unreleased tracks like "Someone Put Your Hand Out", "Sunset Driver", "In The Back", "Money Business", "On The Line", "We Are Here To Change The World" and several more. the collection also had a fifth disc, a DVD of a HBO broadcast of an entire concert from his 1992 Dangerous World Tour. it was the last album Michael released to the public.

I feel like since he's done Thriller 25, Bad 25 and the 2 posthumous albums, that he might as well do The Ultimate Collection. That's the last album he absolutely should listen to. It's required listening for any Michael Jackson fan in my opinion.

I love this album. It doesn’t feel completely right, knowing that MJ didn’t have the final say in all of the production, but I still feel grateful to have been given a little bit more of his magic after he passed. I have SO enjoyed going through his albums with you, as a “new” fan and enjoying your reactions as someone who has heard all of his tracks countless times ❤️ Can’t WAIT for the music videos!! Or, short films as MJ would say 🥰

I prefer the solo version for both the original and the mix version of Love Never Felt So Good. Just to hear Michael sing that with his full voice just sounds amazing! Also, the original is really stripped back and acoustic which makes it so beautiful. I feel like they actually gave this album some thought, and definitely continued Michael's legacy through it. There are loads of good songs on this. Love Never Felt So Good, Chicago and Loving You, are my favs. Both the originals and mixes. I hope there's another album coming soon 🤞🏼

Michael would've loved this album. That's my belief. He would've hated "Michael" though LOL. The production doesn't even compare. As usual, it does give me a slightly bad feeling that he didn't get a say in this but after hearing this album, it's clear to me that they tried to put respect on his name in every possible way (unlike "Michael" which seemed to deliberately disrespect him in every possible way...) and I think Michael would've really appreciated and loved Xscape. Some people want to say "well he didn't put these songs on his albums for a reason" but actually when you read the backgrounds for every album, he always wanted to include every single song but it wasn't always realistic. Especially when he worked with Quincy Jones on Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad, he was particularly upset at how short the albums were and wished he could include at least a few more songs on each. He originally intended Bad to be a triple LP (that's at least 30 songs in total) but Quincy convinced him to cut it down and make it like Off the Wall and Thriller. Quincy also convinced him to cut Leave Me Alone to make 10 tracks but Michael later reissued Bad to include Leave Me Alone. But wow so if there's at least 30 finished songs for Bad, 11 of them made the cut, 10 of them appeared on Bad 25, 2 appeared on Xscape, there are still at least like 7 songs from the Bad sessions that need to be released. A similar thing happened with Invincible where he wanted to make it a double album and that's at least 15 tracks on each disc, again making at least 30 songs in total. I suppose because his albums had followed a pattern at this point, that he realized he couldn't ruin it, but that's just my speculation. Again we got 16 songs on Invincible, 3 Invincible songs appeared on Michael and 4 appeared on Xscape, I wonder what else is missing from those sessions. And all of the other sessions from other eras in general. Sigh. But yeah I think this is an amazing solid album and the production blew me away when I first heard it. It actually makes top 5 Michael Jackson albums for me. It's just that good.

A handsome man - Michael, a handsome soul, inside. There is so much meaning, beauty, sadness and pain in his work, music, songs, that sometimes tears come to his eyes. Either these are tears of admiration for the talent of the singer, or deep sympathy for him. Pure voice , pure , kind , loving heart . His English speech is very pleasant to listen to. It feels like he was ready to embrace the whole world, but this world relentlessly pushed him away, writing unthinkable rumors, striking with his cruelty ... Thanks to the author! There would be more of these!

The estate did a much better job compiling this album than “Michael” that’s for sure, and focused on finding the best tracks they could, as well as finally releasing some fan favorite leaks such as Xscape and Blue Gangsta. Love Never Felt So Good, the album solo version, is one of my all time favorite MJ songs. It’s breezy, fun, and groovy, all classic MJ hallmarks. I also love the original version of Slave to the Rhythm, it’s a total bop. There’s another unreleased version of Do You Know Where You’re Children Are that is better than either version on this album, but it’s a great song in all three forms. I really love this album. The estate and Sony got this one right. Having the new versions and the originals was a fantastic idea and exactly what they should have done with “Michael”.

Justin Timberlake? No, thanks... I wish they had used BRUNO MARS instead, Bruno is a much more capable singer and his covers of Michael are quite impressive, he even does Dirty Diana!! BTW there´s an official unreleased version with JUSTIN BIEBER singing SLAVE TO THE RHYTHM, so yes.. the 2 justins are officially on a Michael album. You guessed it right. XDDD

I have this album since 2014 and I have only listened to the original versions, with the exception of the remixes of Slave To The Rhythm and Blue Gangsta. And I only listened to the remixed version of Slave To The Rhythm, which I enjoy as much as the original versions of each song. I just don't like the remixes at all, with Do You Know Where Your Children Are and Blue Gangsta being my least favorites. A shame we don't share the opinions about the original versions, because I do enjoy those a lot.

I like hearing his demos but I feel like obviously there was a reason why MJ never released those songs, because they're not up to his standards. I feel like releasig these is nice for the fans but it kinda pulls down his legacy in terms of the quality of his music from his official albums.
@Staronat
@Staronat 2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm I dunno. I mean he needed to choose, so I don't think it's because they didn't meet his standards. An album is about more than a single song, it's also the criteria how it works together, how the songs compliment each other and tell a story. A lot of the songs from this album are really dark and heavy so he might not have felt like putting them there, but they were recorded, that alone shows they were a close cut and met some kind of criteria. Releasing them after his death is also a way of giving the world a glimpse behind the clean cut albums, and that he had so much more to give. And releasing the Demos on the Album is also a way of honouring the original. The album itself however, in my opinion, felt like a modern take on a classic Michael Jackson and I think he would have accepted it and be honoured that those songs he wrote with his souls still got a second chance.

Him & his record label only released one official concert DVD & it's some of the most amazing footage you'll ever see of an entertainer performing. I highly suggest reacting to just that concert seeing as Jackson gave his approval of its release in 1993 for HBO & in 2001 as a Sony official DVD. Its been uploaded to his official channel in its entirety, so if you ever wanna give it a reaction.. Please do, Will all be watching right along with ya.
