Monza on ACC is actually fine if you're in higher safety rated lobbies. I can do two or three races before I see a killing, and I often start from the back for the hell of it.

@@redbadger2656 Yeah, particularly at the start of the race. I feel like most people have their braking point set up when hot lapping, but bc starts are usually slower they either or overcook it or brake too early.

Yesterday I did a race there. Went into that first chicane and got hit from behind. Avoided going off or hitting anyone else. Someone else tried to go up the inside on the second part of the chicane by jumping the kerb and t-boned me. Then another guy hit me in the rear and another hit me coming out of the chicane. I thought despite being hit from all angles, I did well to not actually hit anyone myself or go off/spin ... my prize was a 5 second penalty for contact.

With the Icelandic dude, if you haven't seen him before then possibly he's new to sim racing. Maybe he's hotlaped for ages to get fast. Guessing he is now at the beginning of side by side racing. Just needs a bit of experience to improve his race craft. I'm thinking his bad move was inexperience and not malicious. Just my thoughts.

Good point, I think. I am not the guy in question, but I am also new to sim racing and qualify way better than I can race. Its quite demoralising at race timeactually, I always end up dropping positions instead of gaining them!

It's not only in the game that the Variante del Retifillio causes problems. That slip road between the polystyrene blocks section and the actual chicane is the Superbike layout, first used in 2010 because of a crash in 2009. Just so you get an idea of how bad the problem is

You think it's bad on GT7?? Try this on ACC where there is NO GHOSTING and whenever cars are spun, they are then parked sideways on the track for everyone else to hit. Monza on ACC = 90% chance of a massive pileup

People push far too hard at T1. You can't win Monza at T1 but you can certainly lose. I quite enjoyed not qualifying and racing from the back as it always guaranteed positions, but I made the mistake of qualifying with a time that puts me in the mid pack for low/mid A DR, and results in annihilation of SR. so now I just take the hit to my DR, drop to the back at the start and race from the back.

Monza and Laguna Seca Raceway were always my two top tracks, where I test newly purchased cars. Of course offline, since 95 % of online players can´t drive and don´t have any race discipline.

This first chicane here and the one at Dragon trail are ridiculous. People just do not know how to race let alone show etiquette competition. Little rubbing is one thing its hard racing, but deliberate wrecks and these StOOPid dive bombs..they're not even slowing down and that's the worst part.

Monza is becoming infamous in real life too. The curbs are too high and its causing a lot of major accidents recently. Drivers go through the chicanes too quick, hit the massively tall curb which causes the car to gain some lift and from there because of flat the bottoms of these cars are they just start soaring. It's really bad. Essentially its just an example of regulations causing more problems than they fix.

In Italy your sentence is dependant on who you kill. It might actually amount to two seconds. Two seconds of free falling that is, right after they gave you some concrete shoes and pushed you off a bridge.

The line between taking a chicane as fast as possible, and totally rolling over is a thin line. “Dive bombing” it is kind of the fastest way you can take it, without impeding the track.

16:50 definitely the other drivers fault, moving under braking and didn’t give you space on the outside. You were definitely a little late on the brakes perhaps but either way you didn’t have space to stay on the track on the outside, hence why he hit you.
