I'm guessing he "teleported" because it's a way to prevent rammers from ruining the race. It probably calculated your speed and put them at the distance of the speed you were doing. Since it was right before a corner, that made it even better for him because it was treated like he took the corner at full speed (160mph). If so, then it seems like the better way to take someone out is with pushing them left or right into a car or obstacle, so the game treats it as a regular crash and they don't teleport. (just a theory)

@@jerkopatrik Well the problem are not really the effects, you can turn them off. I find them butt ugly, but to each his own. But when you do, the 'normal' effects are completely gimped. Smoke is really bad, sparks are really bad, car particles are almost non-existent. It's like they used the new 'effects' to gimp the rest of the game more instead of making it better.

The game looks pretty damn fun, but man I am reeeeaally not a fan of the little cartoon graphics and cell shaded characters. The art style just looks so out of place when used alongside the photorealistic cars and game environments. If they wanted to do some ultra stylized game with cartoon characters and pop up flashing graphics I dont get why they didnt just go full on cell shaded and make the world/cars fit with that art style. It just seems distracting to me, and to be frank kinda lazy. Like instead of actually innovating gameplay/customization/world interactivity, just flash random cartoon graphics around the car...? I feel like we've been playing the same damn games over and over again for 10 years now.

After playing for like 30 hours i can actually say, the style actually fits great with the street racing vibe. Also they are a lot less distracting when your actually playing yourself. I was skeptical myself but find it really cool now, really makes the game stand out from other race games artisticly, and also the game is a joy to play. Also just because its a different style does not make it lazy :S
