@RedVynil It's not John Cleese, it's a British newsreader called Reginald Bosanquet, prolific in until the 1980s.

It's not Reggie, but Kenneth Kendall

Terry Arnett well corrected!....and of course Cleese was parodying that style of circa 1970 newsreader voice/continuity announcer voice. Funny how the original source is now replaced by the lampoonist. People know of Cleese’s mickeytake first.....shame cos that was what was funny in the first place (ie. newsreader voice saying something silly). Ah well.

@TheMightyHartley Oh! Okay, thanks!! Well, it sure SOUNDS like John Cleese. I only know of the Brits what I get over here, so, some of their references blow right past me. There's a Bevis Frond track that starts out with some guy on radio talking about his two kids and he goes up to their room to check on them and I could've SWORE it was Marty Feldman, Igor, from, "Young Frankenstein". One day, I wrote Nick and asked him who it was and he said it wasn't Marty, but some other radio performer.

That's a really good point actually 🤔

@TheMightyHartley Well, like I said, it's just that I didn't know those other guys even existed, so, I just associated the voices with who I thought they were. I'm usually pretty good at sussing out voices, even with people like Mel Blanc, who did nearly every voice on Warner Brothers cartoons, and Paul Frees, whose done hundreds of voices in his career. Cheers back at ya, mate!

@RedVynil I know exactly what you mean; once you associate a person with a voice, it's hard to shift it from your mind! Cheers. :)
