Back in the 80s I bought the EP with Sences Working Overtime and this song which I loved. What happened to this song ? It doesn't seem to be available anywhere except maybe vintage vinyl . I've also tried looking on Spotify and Amazon Music. But no luck.

I'm unbecome, I cease to be You are the mirror reflecting me I'm unbecome, I atomise You are the warm air 'neath my lark rise Oh what's to be done? I'm now a cinder where once I was the sun Now you're not here, I'm unbecome I'm unbecome, I melt away You are the morning of everyday Oh what's to be done? I'm now a stumbler where once I'd skip and run Now you're not here, I'm unbecome I've forgotten how to smile and laugh and I won't show up on your photograph I'm unbecome, I dissipate You are the fresh bread upon my plate Oh what's to be done? My heart was cloud light but now it weighs a ton Now you're not here I'm unbecome Now you're not here I'm unbecome

Bought the Senses Working Overtime EP when it first came out and ended up enjoying this almost as much. Hypnotic chorus has stayed with me all these decades.

I’m living in my smokeless zone My house is not a happy home I got to do something ‘fore I kick the bucket I’m living in this smokeless zone I clean my dusty windowsills Everything I grow it kills I don’t want to stay in this street any longer Living in this smokeless zone England’s green, once so pleasant land Living on a time bomb yeah The whole damn place is going to turn to sand Bah bah I cough upon my wheezy chest My penicillin does it best There’s only 1 cure for an unhealthy body Get out of this smokeless zone

I could see it being somewhere around Your Dictionary or Fruit Nut. To add a bit of playfulness before the deep haunting themes at the end of the album.

One of my all-time favorite XTC songs. The fact that it is the final bonus track on their least popular LP and thus forever relegated to obscurity is an absolute crime.

My god, my kingdom for any service to stream this song. I've been waiting for years for this song or the Times Square soundtrack to become available on Spotify, Apple or Amazon and it just. will. not. happen. I mean, it's not even on any available XTC comp. Thank god I have it on vinyl.

For some reason the record label who owns the rights to the soundtrack will not release it. Not sure why, as it would sell like crazy and make them a lot of money. Go figure. 🫠
