Their live sound was as close to the recording as you could hope for. Andy’s vocals, everything for that matter was top notch, all the way to the synth interlude. Thank you Andy, Dave, Terry and Colin for the great music and inspiration over the decades.

Unlike most of their new wave contemporaries XTC possesed expert and complex musicianship. Check out Andy's crazy chording mixed with Dave Gregory's skillful leads along with Colin Moulding's all over the fretboard bass work all along with Terrry Chambers' solid precise drumming and you'll know what I mean.

It wasn't so much stage fright as how his body and head were reacting to the exhaustion from touring combined with going cold turkey after 12 years of valium addiction.

This video led me to do a deep dive into XTC and place them atop of my list of favorite bands. "Yacht Dance" with its Classical, quirky folk, bouncing bass slides & flanged drums changed my life in ways I can't quite explain just yet. And "No Thugs.." is the perfect, immaculate performance. As anyone from the area would know if you went from Swindon to Chippenham you'd be travelling in the wrong direction towards Bristol rather than towards London. The station also isn't called Chippenham Junction, its just called Chippenham.
