It's not her range, it's the support she puts under every note. Every note is steady, her breaths apparently endless. She has a breathing and support technique the likes of which are not easy to find.

She is INSANELY underrated. Unbelievably naturally gifted with a brilliant technique to match. I think I've heard before that she made a conscious decision not to do any extensive touring or trying to over-sell herself to the public, because she just wanted to live a normal life with her son. That's definitely respectable, but I still wish she was more acknowledged.

@@KajiVocals yall think because someone teaches a high note that makes them a soprano. Newsflash, mezzos can sing just as high as sopranos. It's not uncommon for mezzos to sing soprano roles and vice versa especially if the mezzo has a good top. The only thing is that a mezzo has a warmer denser middle voice (Linda's voice is sturdy), tends to stay mid range but short visits to the top, has a brassier or copper sound...I don't hear gold or silver in this voice (silver = Jodi Benson, Gold= Liz Callaway). She is world renown as a mezzo and I've heard her live 2x...she sounds like Barbara Streisand and Liza Minelli put together.
@KajiVocals3 жыл бұрын
@@mugrad25 Me calling her a soprano has nothing to do with her high notes... I would still call her a soprano even if she sang a song in the E3-B4 range. Her timbre, natural tessitura, zona di passaggio, head voice - all developed soprano voice. But what is te most indicative of her being a soprano is actually her formant coupling when she sings. She is also on record calling herself a soprano in many, many, many interviews.
@mugrad253 жыл бұрын
@@KajiVocals think you're not allowed to post links. Anyway, in this article titled: "The mystery involving this singer: Why isn’t she a major star?" She calls herself a mezzo soprano. I think we are hearing different things. The midbelts are explosive relative to the upper ones.

Great video! And may I ask you how do you avoid copyright when making vocal range videos
@xtinafan063 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks so much for watching and commenting! As for avoiding copyright, there's really no foolproof method to doing that, unless you modify the audiovisual content to such where it goes undetected by the automated copyright detection system. But even still, content owners can rightfully file a copyright claim and request for removal at any time after that, even if your video wasn't flagged when it was initially uploaded and processed. Any claims and requests for removal that were previously approved get re-routed and stored into a database that is linked to KZbin's automated copyright detection system. That's why certain videos get flagged and blocked before you even get a chance to make them public. Others may not get blocked until later on, after the company or individual that owns the rights to said content discovers the video and decides that they do not want it to stay up. In my case, this channel is not monetized, and I usually make a point to emphasize that, so that content owners know that my videos are for entertainment/educational purposes only, and that I don't seek to actually profit off of the material to which they own the rights.

Is she a mezzo or soprano???
@xtinafan063 жыл бұрын
Up for debate, it seems! She's one of those "in-between"-type voices that could probably go either way. The only mezzo-ish quality she has imo is her timbre (but it could still pass as that of a darker soprano) and the metallic-like sturdiness of her lower and mid-belts. Her notes in the 3rd octave, however, indicate otherwise.

Linda is Unoriginal. Not unique. She copied Streisand & Garland. And a light, airy, thin-ish voice. Facts.💯
