I've overclocked my monitor to support Nvidiamd Zsyncfire. I no longer have to worry about screen tearing or FPS loss while mining headshots in PUBG. Best thing is, I can now use my 8600GT and Radeon 128 Pro together for a true 16K experience. I've underclocked the GPUs to keep my computer case from going super saiyan.

deadeyecowkillz02 Yes, it is too loud for headphones (I use a decent one) but wether or not it is a problem depends on what you was listening before that. Unfortunately there is no such thing as normalised sound in Windows and mediaformats. Suppose that you just listened to someone who used a bloody laptopmic (don't do that!) and then put on this you are fucked. However, better a bit too soft than a bit too loud. Listen back to it, if you can hear it fine with decent speakers at 50% volume or something like that then the volume should be loud enough. People who can't hear it then realy should use something better to listen with, for their own sake.

In my opinion mechanical keyboards are a waste of money and other than being more durable the rest is all downhill compared to the membrane. (i returned my mechanical keyboard after 3 days, it was so expensive). Mouse wise I own a Steelseries Rival fnatic edition and its amazing how confortable it is, but a 30€ mouse would just do the same since i only use 700dpi. A good pair of headphones is a must have, i've gottem 3 +-50€ headphones and they always give problems, sound quality, durability and after a few hours they get so unconfortable, i now own kingston hyper X and it was the best deal by far. its all about opinions and experiences.

As a video editor myself, owning two i7's, I can say for sure that no it's not a must. Unless your production workflow is several videos per day, heavy use of 3D compositions or in a job where time really is money, the practical time saving brought by HyperThreading isn't going to add up to much. Add to that that the editing process itself isn't necessarily that CPU intensive and many render operations, editing applications and codec implementations by themselves aren't always optimized to take advantage of eight or more threads. It will speed up some parts for sure.. but lets not kid ourselves that its some sort of night and day difference or that an i5 wouldn't be able to cope with video editing.

A Mechanical keyboard DEFINITELY does have an advantage over membrane ones. When I press a key on my mech keyboard I don't need to have it bottom out to actuate, a membrane one does. This makes for less "input lag" (not really input lag, more or less human ability lag) and higher precision in button presses. Especially in games like Osu!, LoL, DOTA and OverWatch being able to press a key faster and more accurately gives you a great advantage.
@kingdonut13908 жыл бұрын
Max S u need to bottom out most mechanical switches and the activation force isn't that much different
@cryogenical_8 жыл бұрын
No you don't. Mechanical switches actuate based on a tiny connector within the switch that touches the metal part you're pressing down to complete the circuit. In fact: Toper switches can even be set on different actuation distances by software. If a key needs to be bottomed out to actuate it's not a mechanical switch.
@warped30758 жыл бұрын

Max S that's only for the new rgb type heaven one, which is literally the shittiest topre out there, just the signature thoc alone is not worth getting, get a hhkb or realforce, you should not be getting a topre for the adjustable activation point anyways

@lionheartgaming21748 жыл бұрын
You are correct that new builders should not buy these things, and invest their money on other components... HOWEVER: You said mechanical keyboards will not increase your performance. This is incorrect. Mechanical (generally) has a much higher refresh rate as well as smaller weight required to press. May seem small, however definitely important. Especially when you can pick up a MXRED one for $30, it's definitely worth the upgrade in a lot of cases. Also, the ultra wide. Ultra wides don't stretch your image from the side, if you were to cover the sides so you were getting the same ratio as regular monitors, you'd find the field of view is the same. Instead of stretching, they expand the image, which can actually be beneficial, and in my opinion, never damning in the slightest. All in all, for you new builders out there, I personally would recommend a cheap mechanical rather than one for the same price that is membrane, it will make a difference. ultra wides are way too expensive, I got mine on black Friday and am glad, however $400, what it usually costs is far too much. CPU point he made is very very valid. don't do it guys. not worth it. Good vid btw.

This is guy is semi right. Companies sell you BS and people.. including myself in the past just eat it up and throw money at them chasing the hardware dragon. ..using excuses fed to them like "I dont want to bottle neck..blah" and "I have to futrueproof" and upgrade for no reason. . It gets to the point where you care about what specs you can brag about instead of being within certain game hardware requirements. Just look at the comments below...PC gamers are just waiting to tell their system specs.

Keyboard -> Longevity matters; you're typically paying for quality and feel. Your overall point is correct of course. AIO -> The radiator can fail, fittings can fail, fins can get bent, etc. AIO's are generally very reliable nowadays though; but a high end air cooler is usually superior option for most people.

I agree on a lot of these except for the first one. When you are playing a game consistency is incredibly important. Membrane keyboards get stuck, feel mushy, they're slower due to the longer actuation distance and over all just dont deliver as good or as consistent of a result as a mechanical keyboard. Same story with the mouse having a good sensor and some nice switches for your left and right click are important if you want to deliver consistent shots in a game like cs:go or Overwatch. As for gaming headsets though, you're better off buying a nice pair of headphones and slapping on a modmic.

Honestly, because of the amount of advancements nowadays, i think a mechanical keyboard is necessary, mainly because depending on what switch you get, it can improve your reflexes because of different actuation points which can give you an advantage. Same thing goes for headphones with 7.1 surround sound which can give you an advantage on your enemy’s position in fps games.

@papasmurf82227 жыл бұрын
I personally disagree on the headphone statement. The headphones are almost as vital as a mouse especially on cs:go or other competitive fps games. You need that surround sound to compete. That extra sense gives you an edge. Good video

1. Membrane keyboards put loads of stress on your finger, compared to mechanical keyboards. 2. A headphone for listening music does not include a headset, also senheiser 600 costs $200+ more than the g430, ofcourse it's better. 3. A high dpi can be very advantageous in RTS and RPG. They won't boost the performance of your pc, it will boost your performance.

I dont know what the fuck you're playing but Space Engineers usually uses 16GB of RAM for just itself, 4K lets me see enemies 3km away and snipe their ass in ArmA, my custom liquid loop lets me overclock my CPU from 4.0 to 4.6 GHz nicely. Pump Failure: I don't think I've heard of a pump failure even on any major AIO maker. Their pretty reliable but if shit doesn't work out then hopefully you bought a warranty... (or if you've had it a long time, you could upgrade :D ) Everyone should have an i9-7980XE running at 5GHz with 4 2080ti's in SLI cause fuck it.

Alastair Royale oh really you make 3km shots in Arma? And tell what instance you are able to physically see another player at that distance. Sorry but seems far fetched
@pitchforkntorch7 жыл бұрын
With an M107, KSVK, M24, M40A3, AS50, or the LRR. Really any of those. I typically use the M107 or AS50 just because those are 1 shot kill. I don't claim it to be easy, and I've only met maybe 10 people total over the years that have been able to out-snipe me. But if you turn your settings up so you can actually see anything that far away and have a high res screen, you can do it. With certain guns a target might be at the bottom or completely out of your scope which makes it really hard, essentially impossible if they're moving. Most of it is training your eye to catch tiny, minute movements if you don't already know where a target is; sometimes they may only be a few pixels, especially if their prone. The rest is literally... can you line up a shot properly.

@manaskyes90817 жыл бұрын
Let me stop you here. 1st Mechanical keyboards make a huge difference in all games vs membrane ones. 2nd Logitech head phones are trash. Try a real gaming head set like corsair, razer, or hyper X. 3rd 16 gb of ram is the minimum for ultra settings now and if you want to run discord, obs or other programs you better have that 16 gb minimum but I will agree that there are better upgrades than ram. Normally. 4th if you wanna run PUBG at 60fps you need an I7 (that ones the devs fault....)

One thing about the ram is that there is a program that lets you store your games on your excess ram while the computer is on and transfers it back to the hard drive when it is off, this does make faster loading times, off course you would need 128 gigs of ram to actually store any game on it but this comes at the cheap price of 2k

I know this video is kinda old, but I can't help myself. 1. Macro butons are very important for games like MOBA, MMO, RTS.The cheapest begin at something like 75$.Is it worth if you are a causal gamer, is personal choise.2.RAM capasity is also more important then you decribe,If your GPU has low VRM capacity.The system will try to "make for it"by using more RAM.Also games started to go beyond 8GB, so 16 GB is actually a must have for 1080p, 60 fps, high settings, ecpacilly if you are with something like 4GB VRM.3.CPU is more important then you decribed.A lot of games are more CPU depended then GPU and reqire high clock speed.So 4gz is actually a must own at this point for high performance.A side note on the cooling.I'm with air cooling, just couldn't bare the risk, becuase I live in a countrty where if a leak hapens, your F***K.But if you need a lot of cooling for overclocking like me and you are gonna go with air, there are almost no choises, but it becomes very case depended aka. you are gonna need a really large case.
