There are so many reasons that the 4B11 is better than the 4G63 but ignorance is bliss and iron vs aluminum seems to be the only thing about the 4G63 people like. Here's the one fact that can't be argued. Timing CHAIN in the 4B11 and a timing BELT in a 4G63. Belts are not better, they fail and eat engines. 4B11 is square, doesn't need a balancing shaft that fail and eat engines. 4B11 has way less lag and hits spool faster because of MIVEC being on both intake and exhaust...etc.

One more thing . 4g63 is pretty easy to work with and if you wanna do some engine swapping . I saw a lot of petrol heads doing engine swap with Proton cars

I mean not all arguments are ignorance,...I’ve owned 4B11 N/A and Turbo for years and in the last year picked up a Evo 8 to daily drive. You gotta own them and put the seat time in them to see where the community gets divided. There’s more to it than what’s on paper. The 10 is the perfect one in the line up stock vs stock but it was a disservice to what the fans loved, no one asked for it and it was slower. They loved what they loved; the turbo lag, the front mounted manifold/turbo, the mechanical rear diff plus that terrifying feel of 350, 400 or 500hp in a older chassis evo vs the bigger X, That’s the biggest intangible the X doesn’t give you unless you start gutting it and stripping it down. Long story short, they all do the same thing, they are all temperamental, all need regular oil changes but the older the evo the bigger the fun factor when they are modded
@Frankielodo4311 ай бұрын
@@HoodBatmanfrom my personal perspective as I’ve owned both Evo x and the Evo 8 and also a Evo 5, the older evos with the 4g63 are raw driving race/rally cars out the factory none the less with power upgrades. 4g63 is the b series of mitsu and the 4b11 is the k series of the mitsu world. The Evo x is more street/daily oriented unlike the older cars. It’s great you can make 600hp+ on stock 4b11 sleeves but that’s pushing the limits to an extent. It’s a shame they lost their ways with these fun and awesome vehicles 😕
@Frankielodo4311 ай бұрын
You also forgot to mention how bad the gear ratios are on the stock trans. Going 80 mph with the car sitting at 4000 rpm roughly. Also having to be at the gas pump almost everyday you drive it. Can only imagine what it’s like with 1650cc injectors and a Wally 450 or even a double pumper setup. Must say I admire the build and how well it’s looks/performs. Keep up with the solid content and hope you can influence others to maybe join the Mitsubishi platform 🤘🏼

No matter what people will always hate on the 4B. It's more efficient in almost every way. Makes just as much power without opening it up. It's proven itself time and time again and fanboys don't see that. I love my 10 to death. It's been reliable, held power well and never done me wrong. My top 4 hates for my X 1. Rattles but I didn't buy the car for the interior. As long as I had the Recaro's that's all that mattered to me. 2. The AYC pump in colder climates. I live in CO where it reaches negatives in the winter. The pump hates life! 3. The trans, I love it but hate it. Shifts like butter after the fluids warm up but I typically have to go 1st to 3rd for the first 10 minutes or so during the winter. 4. I knew buying the car was expensive to maintain. I'm still on the stock clutch at 77k miles at almost 400wtq. 2400 dollars to replace it through a shop. 14 hours labor time to replace it. At least that's what the books call for.

I LOVE my evo but my biggest regret is buying a 2014 MR, the DCT SST is amazing and perfect considering its a daily but i feel like im missing something. Dont even get me started on the 18 year old hitting me with the “BUt ItS aN AuTO”🤦🏽♂️ Meanwhile the older car heads say “who cares its still an Evo” or “No human can shift faster than a DCT”. Gotta love the older educated car enthusiasts

Dope video 👍🏾. Quick question what part was giving you trouble with the differential? I have an 08 MR, for some years now whenever the car goes from 1st to 2nd rarely from 2nd to 3rd. I get a rattling sound towards the back of the car with some additional chunking sounds. Surprised the differential hasn’t fallen apart 😅. I don’t abuse the car as much as I used to and only drive on the weekends. Hoping that by replacing the part it’ll save me 10+ grand the dealership has been trying to get me to spend on a new transmissions. I also have two warnings saying the pressure for my transmission is off but car manages to drive and change gears no problem. (SST transmissions are hardly reliable so I’ve read online. ) Thanks again

Great video! I got to get those seats! I personally hate the stock sound system. That was embarrassing until I upgraded. Plus, I have a 5-speed and will not drive it on any roadtrips. I also hate how everyone wants to challenge you or show off when you pull up. It's a lot of drama that's comes with an EVO. Im getting ready to put a decal on the back window that says, "I Got Nothing to Prove".

It's because car people love seeing Evo's and want to see how their car goes up against em... it's kind of a compliment in a way. I hardly ever get people wanting to race against me in my Evo X, it's only happen to me about 2-3 times in the 2 years I've had mine. You have no reason to race em, do you really get that annoyed? :P
@xtra_slo15964 жыл бұрын
I get the taunting all the time lol. Lots of regular cars but I’ll usually laugh and just give them a thumbs up. And side note yes the 5 speed sucks for long highway trips sitting at 4000rpm

DUDE! I finally put my gauges in last weekend!!!!! Took me 2days because I ran into 2 stupid issues. 1 was the cap AMS uses on their downpipe. I couldn't find the right socket size for the O2 sensor. 2 trips to AutoZone found out it was a 25mm smh. The last but most frustrating issue was running the line for the oil pressure gauge! OMG I couldnt open the main grommet for the firewall harness! Had to take the wire to get extended and the path I took was the same 1 you did for the boost gauge! Heat shrink and wire loomed it of course!

Usually people that hate on the 4b11 either dont own an evo X and or do not know the potential of the 4b11. My only gripes with the X is the weight to power ratio in stock form. I own an evo 1 with about 200 plus HP. I would literally make any excuses to drive the 1 and leave the 10 at home.

Hey man quick question im new to the evo scene and when I bought my evo I found out the motor was built. Its on Manley h beam rods and wiseco pistons. Ive been running the norm ams 5w30 can that harm the built motor because the oil isn't as thick? im not making crazy power either I made 350 to the wheels on 24 pounds.

Mark, the reason why there were no Recaros in the US final editions was because the USDOT implemented stricter side airbag regulations in 2015 - the Recaros that had been present in the Evo X from 2008 to 2014 did not pass the newer regulations in the US. It was not Mitsubishi’s fault, Mitsubishi had no choice but to pull the Recaros from the US market so that the Evo 10 would meet the new regulations. It was either that or the US would not get the final edition, Mitsubishi should have gave a bigger discount for not having the Recaros, but due to the limited exclusivity of the “final edition” is what kept its price higher. The last final edition (#1600) sold at auction for somewhere around $76,000. www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/news/a30834/mitsubishi-lancer-evo-x-final-sold/
