Loved it. The fpv part was like a spa treatment for me. So relaxing and beautiful. This is my favorite plane so far. Love flying this. So smooth. Yes like you mentioned the control horn connectors came off on my aleron and had a crash too. Stock connectors needs to be replaced

ha ha very nice was just looking at one of your older videos with the SkySurfer. I got mine late last fall 2018 and have yet to maiden it. Soon, the snow is mostly gone and maybe this coming week either go to the farmers field or a little church property that I have permission to also fly on. They have a long field surrounded by farmers fields also which you can see from my older videos. Of course I also have my radian xl which I flew a few times last year. I see they have made a few little changes from your Sky Surfer for example the push rods are a little thicker and much shorter with little rubber bands to lock them to the servo arms. Anyway was exciting to see your flight and also FPV. I have to make up a little clip on fpv unit as you did also. Great fun. Happy Flying

Well it's almost identical to a Bix1. FPV is worth a try but I still prefer watching the plane flying.

Nice video, great review...the fpv footage at the end sold me. I believe this will be my 6yo sons 1st "real plane", he's been doing really well flying some of the Flite Test foamboard models with me buddy boxing to help out, but I've been having to take over less and less each time we go fly. Great vid as usual, as for the horns, I put heaps of hot glue on them and over the flat squareish parts and onto the control surface itself, the only time they ever come off in my experience is in a crash, and normally it's the whole control surface comes off, and with the nut's/nylon I still use the old nuts with a touch of ca, and they don't move, they are still removable too, works for me, I've got a few of these myself, the original bixler1, a bixler2 with a V tail and a serius with a 4 blade prop, and now this Xuav skysurfer, My original Bixler 1 came in a box marked with skysurfer all over it, (about 6 years ago??

You tighten the nut to where you want it then just touch the thread and nut with the tip of the CA bottle and it will never come off, but if you need to it will unscrew with a tiny 4" shifter :-)

Just as a matter of interest, where did you position the CG for this plane? The manual states 52mm from the leading edge +/- 2mm. To get it to balance on the CG I have to put a 2200mah 3S battery shoved right up the front and still need to add about 50 grams of weight in the nose. When I do this it seems to fly nose heavy, but being rather inexperienced still at this game I am worried of moving the CG back and making it tail heavy. Watching the maiden, yours flew beautifully right out of your hand so it made me wonder where your CG was for that flight and subsequent flights. Thanks.

Hi Greg, cant remember where the CG was but I just had the 2200 right forward with no extra nose weight. Just take out the 50g and you will be right.

The latest FPV cameras from Runcam and Foxeer have the voltage displayed on screen. An extra wire is provided which you connect to the flight battery red wire. That's all really, very simple, and very useful. Have a look at my FPV gear playlist for the cameras with this feature.

If you fly without wheels on takeoff, fly by hand, how much throttle do you run, 100 percent or what percent?

Definitely not 100% with a pusher. Best to use about 60% and give a solid throw slightly angled up.

It's actually the motor from a Wing Wing Z84 but any small 2200kV motor would work, ESC is a Turnigy Plush 40A
