I love Ryu, Got him to Plat 3 so far but my god honestly he feels like the weakest character in the game, not in terms of damage but his playstyle and game plan honestly all feel like you’re playing 3rd strike meanwhile everyone else is play Sf6

This is the reason he's rated quite low unlike Ken and Luke. This is also the reason why shoto's are top tiers in their respective games only during the beginning of game's life cycle, or if they're actually broken

I'm just starting my journey with Ryu as my main and though I love him he definitely feels pretty short changed. Everyone else seems to have 45 hit combos and he just has a few hit ones here and there. I wish they would have gave him more multi hit specials.

the best use i have to hashogeki in neutral is to bait parrys kinda like a feint haduken, besides that, kinda meh, if at least it was a good block string ender i could be more useful.

Ryu s gameplay is like a better version of sf3 , he is not as stillized character as the others, but when he hits you, its like a truck full with hammers hahaha less combo ratio but heavy damage

I can only speculate, but either the original account got banned, lost somehow( and this part I hope isn't true but I've already first hand seen other people doing it), or the pros are already trying to gank the lower tiers. I was playing today, I'm not very high ranked, and got absolutely wrecked by some "new challenger" accounts that played possum in the first round and after I got one round on them they'd switch it up and suddenly just unleash high level play on me. I really despise in a way how online play in FG has enabled a lot of people with no honor who just want to ruin other people's time.

I Love the street fighter games and I use to play in Arcade tournament way back when street fighter 2 was in the arcade. never won but did make the finals once. Now I'm old and have severe nerve damage, I will never be above average at street fighter again but any way, my question was is there a way someone like me can play online against other average players or will i just get mauled all of the time. The way you get sorted into different ranks in SF6 should mean that you always end up playing people of a similar skill level to yours. When you start playing ranked with a character, you'll do 10 Placement Matches. How well you do in those will determine where you start in ranked. And those placement matches will usually pit you against opponents of a similar skill level, as well. There's been a lot of care put into SF6, making sure that it's friendly to newcomers and returning players, while still being mechanically deep enough that veterans & pros have the tools they need to go above & beyond. This is THE fighting game to come back to, even if you think nerve damage may have clipped your wings a bit. But even then, Modern Controls might help give you your competitive edge back.

@@Apocalypse754 the devs sacrificed certain things for damage with him. He can do combos just like everyone else, his normals are quite good too. He deals a good bit more damage than Ken, what exactly would they buff!? Give him too many options with his damage output and then he becomes busted. I guarantee you a pro could win a competition with Ryu.
