From the factory the ZR2 models sat up a bit higher in the rear. They had that “jackrabbit” look when they rolled of the showroom floor, which made them look very aggressive back in the day. The leaf springs have just worn a bit. Also the front tires stick out a bit more than the rears for steering geometry. Supposed to make them track better, but it does look a little silly, but that’s how GM designed them. Once you get bigger tires filling up wheel wells it won’t be so noticeable

The actual ZR2 wheels will look sooooo good on there, especially with 31x10.5 A/T or M/T tires. Look forward on seeing more of this beast!

That sux, just lost my 42yr old neighbor to Alzheimer's & my Aunt to Lung Cancer. ❤ I'm S of Houston & I've had mine for 7 or 8yrs now. Paid $3k for her & she's a beautiful 02' Tan Blazer ZR2. I have replaced a ton of parts, including a new tranny because my stock Sunshield snapped. Those go easy. New ECM/Coil, Distributor, 4 caps, (because of moisture) rotor, wires, plugs, A-Arms, Wheel Bearing Hubs, all new Shocks & a new Cat. She's getting 16mpg in town now on 33's & she runs better than my wife's new car. I don't like the temp she's running @ in the Summer when it's very hot outside. She's always ran below 210° w/ the 195° thermostat. Now she's running up to 210° & a little passed 210° when towing a small utility trailer. I just flushed her, installed a new Hayden Severe Duty Clutch Fan & thinking of getting a 190° to see what happens.

Got a 2000 ZR2 2 door and it has the same wheels you had on yours. Seen a 2 door Oldmobile Bravado and it looked exactly like the same 2000 chevy blazer ZR2 model with the trim and it also had the same wheels. I have also seen many 4 doors with those flat 5 spoke wheels so maybe that broacher is misprinted. To note my 2000 ZR2 is a LS model and those reg 5 spokes are meant for the LS.

I am also cleaning out mice from my blazer, i noticed that you didn't remove the ac compartment in the engine bay. Mine is packed full of mouse home. I am removing the passenger fender to accept the bolts. Might want to look into that. Thanks for the videos they are very helpful.

I have the zr2 tires on my blazer. If you know how to make them look like new that would be nice because you cant just sand them smooth or you lose the original look but maybe that is the best way if they are too damaged.

You should've used carpet LINER, not carpet, for sound deadening, which is all that GM used the 1st time, and is cheaper than carpet anyway (and you can get it in different thicknesses from any carpet store). Replace your rear shackles with 2-3" shackles. Don't go over 3", it'll mess with suspension geometry. I put 2" on mine ('04) and she leveled out. It's a ZR2 thing, I think. Oh, and shackles are the cheap "fix" for the sag look! Also, regarding light on ZR2 that you think may be from evap... if you can't find it, but light keeps saying evap (it's not PVC or evap switch in engine), if you do shackles, look smack dab center of them, tucked up against body, for the ROLLOVER valve. Yes, I went through that, and silly Rollover valve was issue. BTW, the ZR2 uses a DIFFERENT rollover valve from a normal Blazer, so make sure to get the correct one.

I know this is an 11ish month old video at this point, but the reason why the back end looks sagged is because it is. For some unknown reason the ZR2s have weaker springs than the other Blazers. The ZR2 has 1100lb springs, base model has 1300lb, and the heavy duty (Z85 RPO I think) springs are 1400lb springs. I just happen to have found that out recently when I was looking for new springs for my 96 Blazer a couple weeks ago.

I have two news and Tires, and Rims the same ones you rolled in your new video. If you care to take a look let me know how to contact you and I have a Blazer that’s been in my garage for a while it’s a 2002. I’m pretty sure you could use it for parts.

If you've got a headliner for a 2 door with sunroof, you'll be my new best friend! Aside from that, I think I'm pretty well set.

@@PhillipsHomeRepair Too bad you are too far away the wrecking yard here in my Texas town has a two door with a headliner in it. I am also fixing to remove a full set of 31x10.50s and go with a set of 265x75x15 non agressive street tires. Too rough for my old butt! it whipped me but Ive cured 95% of all my rattles! drove me nutz
